Playing a Blackmachine B6 inspired custom 7-string (27") built by a Finnish luthier Juho Manninen.
Modified the 5150 rig a bit to suit the ash/maple combination. Works quite well on playthroughs, but it's still pretty harsh and unforgiving on its own. Also made a simple footswitch with my brother to change the rig for the outro. Using BKP Aftermath pickups and D'addario NYXL (11-64) strings. Dual tracked with Kemper (XLR) and MOTU 8pre. 100% pan (L-R) and added ~22hz low cut in FL Studio. A lot of obvious edits concerning additional noises for overall clarity.

Tuning is all fourths with drop C: C G C F A# D# G# + 6th string tuned down to E at 01:10

I've been a big 'hjarta fan since the early demos and regardless of how many times I listen to this song, every single time I hear 0:30 - 0:57 I can't help but smile and tear up a bit. Especially at the new part at 0:48 and the small rest after the open low string note. It gives me such a beautiful feeling. It's like I'm looking back at the baby photos of Traces and seeing how it's grown up to now and feeling pride and love for it. It holds so much nostalgia and reminds me of how beautiful it is to be alive.

@@Krisse No worries, everyone calles it differently. When you hit a string that is maybe a bit to loose or is to low for the scale lenght the pitch goes directly up and then to the pitch it was initially tuned to. Pretty hard to explain, but somehow with upstroking into the fretboard you eliminate that

It honestly just seems like a string picking conveniance. Pick slanting and alternate picking kind of force you to do that when playing singular notes apart from eachother. The upstroke has much less of an attack than the downstroke though, so it would make sense for the string to not have as much strength then, and transmiting more of the low end of that note.

Thank you so much! Rough transcribe took a few hours, though I spent many more refining while learning the parts. IIRC we had 5 takes in total, which were done in one day (video and audio simultaneously).

Thanks! Yes, raising the bridge surely helps, but in addition I would try thinner strings if I were you to reduce the buzz. It takes some getting used to the flop though!
