I know you said you were considering doing a video about red card not being good with hypergeo explanations about why it's a mathematically flawed, but it might also be funny to just have a highlight day that's all matches of red card improving your hand.
I'm not even sure you need hypergeo to explain it? Shuffle your hand in and draw 3 would be a busted card. It's professor's research and a half, and you only lose the cards you can't play. And red card plays it for your opponent.
I think the main reason Red Card isn’t good (yet, maybe) is that there aren’t enough mechanisms to get information about whether your opponent’s hand is good or not. The fact that players have no option to mulligan specific cards in their hand (as is the case in Hearthstone, for instance) is one example of this. If this were an option, and your opponent kept every one of their cards in the mulligan phase, that would be a clear indicator that Red Carding them would be desirable. If more cards are released that either 1) enable you to see/infer cards in your opponent’s hand, or 2) enable you to manipulate your own hand more directly (which lets your opponent see that you’re improving your hand), I think Red Card might become more viable as a disruption mechanism.
fyi jeff/editor the outro still references the upcoming release of the game. i know yall are super busy this week and probably just havent had time to record a new outro yet, but wanted bring it up just in case. sweet deck! i think grass is going to prove to be a strong type long term. exeggutor is one of the best cards to open on if you go first, the type access to sleep/poison and victreebell has the only targeted swap in the game (i think?). the healing from erika, venusaur, and butterfree will also be very powerful if the meta ever moves away from 1 shot decks like mewtwo and charizard.
I've been playing Vileplume for a bit now and I love her. She's stage 2 Wiggly but she's only one prize. She also has the upside of healing a ton. If I get her online, I rarely lose.
Vileplume is my favorite Pokemon and this is the deck I’ve been trying to build since I started a week ago during soft launch… and I still have yet to pull a single Vileplume. I’ll probably just spend pack points for it at this point 😅
I was running a deck like this with Victreebell line instead of Vileplume. Does Victreebell stack up? I know they have different affects they leverage.
