Desi Murgh Shorba | Village Style
Learn how to make a delicious Desi Murgh Shorba in Village Style with Food With Saad Raja. This traditional recipe is packed with flavors that will warm your soul!
Recipe Instructions:
We will take 1 kg of desi chicken and soak it into water and vinegar for some time. So that any particular smell fades away.
In a pan we will add 1/2 Cup desi ghee, add 1/2 tsp Cumin seed, 1/2 tsp black pepper corns, 3-4 green cardamom, 2-3 black cardamom. Will cook this for 1-2 minutes. After that we will add 2 medium thinly slices onions and cook onions until they turn light brown.
When onions turn light brown, we will add 4 Tomatoes, 3-4 green chillies, 1 TBSP red chili powder, 1 TBSP coriander powder, 1/2 TSP turmeric powder and 1/2 TSP salt & 2 TBSP ginger and garlic paste. You can add salt according to the taste buds.
Will cook this for 10 minutes and then grind and make a smooth paste of this mixture.
In a separate pan we will add 3-4 TBSP Oil, paste of one medium onion and cook paste for 1 minutes. We will add our chicken into this pan and cook for around 15-20 minutes. Will add some water in between as required. After it gets cooked we will transfer the gravy into the chicken and further cook for around 15-20 minutes. During cooking we will add 1/2 cup milk mixed with 1/2 cup yogurt. When oil gets separated it means its cooked.
We will transfer this gravy into a pressure cooker and add 1 1/2 litre of water and cook in pressure for around 25-30 minutes. When pressure is over the chicken is ready.
Now serve this and garnish with some fresh coriander. Enjoy this desi delicacy with roti or naan.
