My son is working via videoconference with a programmer in India who currently is working from home. The man apologized for the background noise and my son said, “No problem, greet your mom for me when we’re finished.” The call continued in the usual American businesslike manner. The next day that they conferenced, the the young man said, “After out call ended my mother insisted that I apologize for talking to my boss so rudely.” My son assured him (and his mother) that his direct answers and explanations of any problems were invaluable to their collaboration. I've never been closer to think that those job interviews are just an emotional trap. I've never been to many, so I'm selfed employed, proudly. But these three gentleman spoke from their heart. Companies are trying to lie to you on how good they are, and people interviewed, all of them were fair, not trying to sell theirselves as a lie (as companies do lie to you) but as who they are. They did a great job: you don't want to work for someone's thats not friend of yours and does not respect you. I stick to my standards. I'm no for sale, nor they were. I really liked how the scene was set, they was asked the questions as if this was a real interview and they answered as if it was. Something they may never experience themselves so I am sure this is a good insight in to what other people and cultures go through and how daunting it can be. It should be explained to them though that the aim of an interview is to promote themselves and not bring up negatives - just so they have the complete picture. In America, we're forced to compete for jobs and that requires the ability to convince the interviewer that you're a better choice than all other applicants when you don't even know who they are. Our answers revolve around knowledge, skills, abilities, and impact. Our employers care little about our families or our individual needs. If I ran a business, I'd call myself lucky to be able to hire all three of these gentlemen. They showed me who they really are. They became vulnerable and pushed through their nervousness with honesty. Their willingness to learn and give their all to meet the employer's goals leaves no doubt that I'd be dealing with men I could count on. I was fascinated by their answers and found them culturally revealing. They think other cultures have more to offer in so many ways, but it's those differences that make me wish my country hadn't strayed so far from the elemental things that really matter. We focus on wants. They focus on needs. And family plays such an important role. Bless them all!

Yes, I'm aware of their customs. However, Indian men I personally know discuss their life decisions with their wives first. While parents have their influence, a spouse is usually more important for family decisions than a parent. I fully expected him to say "wife" and was shocked to hear "mom" instead. I'd say that mommy's boys exist in any part of the world. It's just that in more patriarchal societies the extreme control that parents have over their children makes this phenomenon look more normal. I can assure you though that I never heard of a woman who would be happy to have a momma's boy as a husband. I read a lot of international opinions on Quora, including by Indians, and this specific issue is the #1 complaint for Indian wives. For Indian men the main complaint is dowry issues and how everyone believes a woman over a man if she lies about abuse (I don't know if it actually happens but that is the most common issue they write about on Quora). Also, it's a bit annoying how followers of this channel feel the need to baby the participants like they are some unfortunate victims who need to be overpraised for every word they utter. I laugh more at the comments than at the videos. If they don't get how to play tic-tac-toe after an explanation and then seeing the crossed row win and keep making mistakes, the commenters go "Aww, they are genius" as if they were praising infants. Honestly, I find it funny and disturbing at the same time. It's funny how they come up with ridiculous praise for normal things, and disturbing because it's actually arrogant and condescending. Just treat them as you would people around you. There is no need to become overprotective and defend them from any comment that is not dishing out compliments. They are normal men, not handicapped babies. We go "Aww, it's amazing" when a toddler shows us some scribbles but treating adults the same way only looks supportive on the surface but is actually disrespectful. It's not directed at you personally, just a general rant. I find it totally ridiculous and I think it's based on feeling superior to these people and showing off their "generosity". We don't overpraise our equals. I wish these the commenters would quit the inappropriate idolization of normal people as if they were some weird combination of mentally challenged and saints, because it's more disturbing than funny.

Or babu declaring that no tea was a deal breaker. Other things touched my heart like babu saying he only needed food, a place to live and water daily. Things we assume will always be there without request. I loved how thoughtful raeen is in his answers. And that he saw himself as more valuable because he has more than one skill or babu identifying honesty as his greatest asset. Overall i think they did very well for a first interview experience. The asking mama blew my mind. In America most kids leave home between 18 and 22. We would never ask our mothers for permission because we are adults who take care of ourselves. I was 21 when I bought my home and had left my parents. I wasn't sure if my man and myself could get along so we lived together a year. That was a very important learning time for both of us. We got married and have been together for 28 years. I owned the land and home and his name was not on any ownership until I knew he would work. Do kids always live with their parents in India? Can a woman decide to move out and make her own way? I really would like to know these things! There is no way I could live with my husband's parents. They were divorced and remarried and I would of went to jail for killing my husband's stepmother! She is evil!

I think we all have the same feelings inside when we have a job interview. I wish we could be that honest. Like, "Why should we hire you?" ..."cuz I need money to pay my bills. (Duh🙄 ..lol)

I remember as a young woman out of high school, I was interviewed for an office job position for a large company. I will never forget this; Manager said to me- “We are looking for an experience candidate.” Me-“I understand; but how do I get experience if no one hires me?” She looked at me and said “Im going to give it to you” I’ll never forget her name Ms.Helen” I stayed employed 3 years there then moved on. Interviews creates anxiousness-but Remain calm, presentable and Always honest. I think the three scored A+ 100-Hired👌🏻 Love your Channel 💕 I was 18 years old then

That's a lot better than an interview I had at a temporary agency 20+ years ago, when the staffing coordinator came right out and said to me out of the blue: "I can tell you are a really uptight person." I don't know, maybe in my nervousness I seemed over-professional or tried to oversell myself but that wasn't a nice or professional thing for her to say to a complete stranger. I completed a one day assignment for the agency and left soon after. Bottom line: interviews are stressful.

Job interviews can be nerve racking for a lot of people. You have to be you and let things work out on their own. It's especially hard to beat your chest when you have a humble nature as all three men have.

Bless them for their honesty. I hope they were told that in America, job interviews are one of the most stressful things people have to do! We can’t be totally honest or personal, we have to have stock answers ready for ridiculous questions, and we have to have questions to ask that we don’t care about, but will impress the interviewer. 🤯

It was so interesting hearing their answers. It made me wish that I had a nice company for them to work in, and I would serve tea and good food for them everyday! :). The thing I appreciate the most is their humility. It is a beautiful quality that you don't see much in this difficult world. I also appreciated the closeness of their families and how they all depend upon one another.

It was very brave of these men to be interviewed and then seen by 1000s of people. I have conducted many job interviews and have been on a few myself. It's never an easy process. Typically a job interview is private. Applications and resumes aid both the interviewer and the interviewed in their dialog and there are fewer surprises. After the written application would come the verbal queries. I might ask many questions, mostly to find what their communication and social skills are. The interview is a good chance to make a judgement of character. When hiring I have just a few question that I've developed. The answers to those questions along with information provided and references typically reveal if a person is qualified for the position available. I say all this because I feel the men were really taken by surprise. If they were provided with my description in the paragraph above I think they would be more prepared when interviewed. I am just going to add this - corporate interviews can be monstrous. Your every move could be watched starting from when you walk in the door until you leave.

As far as Sarru's interview, I _know_ he's not educated like here in the US & is poor but, naming specialties like being a "master" at playing marbles & flying kites shows his immaturity compared to Babu. Babu acknowledges he's not educated but, speaks about things that show his maturity level & what potential employers would look for!!

Very interesting concept here. I would hire Babu if I ran a tea company or let him provide his own tea, I would hire Raeen if I was a clothing manufacturer and the company was very near his family, I would hire Sarru so he could design brightly colored clothes and bling (jewelry) providing I hire Raeen because I feel they would work together very well!

This was a very interesting video and really shows us some cultural differences. In America, young people are expected to be on their own after completing their education. Some do continue living at home, at least for awhile, but most young people expect to make their own living and not be responsible to or for their parents, provided all are able bodied. This often changes when the parents become elderly. They may go to live with one of their children then. For those of us who grew up in small towns or rural areas, we may have left those areas for jobs. My parents are gone now, and my brothers and I all live in different states.

Im american, and after having Indian flight students and learning their culture, I will be building an apartment for my mother at my house to help her in old age. "parents care for baby when it is young and unable... That baby grows up and cares for parents when they are old and unable" is what they said. They couldn't believe the concept of old age homes.

Please consider teaching Sarru to read his own language, and possibly teaching him some English. He may be illiterate, but he's certainly no idiot. Raheen as well, but I mentioned Sarru because he called himself "illiterate" and because at least Raheen already has marketable skills.

There is no need for your judgmental statements. You do not know what I've done to encourage literacy in my own community. Sarru calls himself illiterate, or at least the translation does. That is why I asked that a thought be given to educating him.

I would suggest you explain to Babu that the addictive part of tea is caffeine and that there is even more caffeine in coffee. Let him experiment by having coffee instead of tea when his tea is due, and seeing that his addiction is served just as well. Taste is another thing altogether, but letting him understand that even Coca Cola has caffeine might make him less worried if he can't find a tea vendor.

Interviews are largely about personal promotion but also to assess ones fit within a team/organisation (from both sides). Interesting that they didn't really understand the question about qualities. I think they have far many more desired qualities than they know - perhaps they never really thought about it. As their viewers, we are able to see a great many sought after qualities in them: wisdom, honesty, trustworthiness, timeliness, conscientiousness, embracing new experience/challenges, keenness to learn, modesty, humility etc. Interesting also that they consider themselves as uneducated. This may be true in a purely academic sense but they are incredibly well educated in "life".....no less educated, just differently educated. For what it's worth, I think that Babu and Raeen would make good life coaches or motivational speakers.
