When Babu said "It can't be that dangerous because we ate it" I almost lost it. Then when he said he thought the lobsters were busy doing something special I did lose it!
I'd love to see their reaction to more videos of the magnapinna squid. It's such a marvelous and terrifying deepsea species. I believe the channel you took the photo from has more recent videos showing them moving. They're often recorded around oil rigs. Looking up and watching deepsea explorations and documentaries has been a long time hobby of mine and it's always fun to see people learn about new things. We live in a beautiful world. It makes me really happy to see channels like this that use their platform to share the world, it's people and it's wildlife, with those on the panel who might not have been able to experience it otherwise.
I wanna watch them see the whole Blue Planet series. I love getting a different culture's perspective of the world. Anthropology has always interested me.
I think it'd be wonderful for the villagers to learn more about whales- more specifically, about how they are mammals, rather than "fish" as they usually describe them. their evolution, complex social order ,and secret language would be very interesting for them to react to. Great video!
I nearly fell off my chair laughing when Babu was talking about the blind lobster. This video is a combination of everything that makes a channel worth watching - education, humor, interesting reaction of the guys, and thought provoking. Excellent!
This is so cool! I love learning this stuff just as much as our villager friends! I'm getting older and I'm so impressed by these discoveries being made every day
I doubt seriously you will ever convince them to scuba dive or snorkel. However, a glass bottom boat or the restaurant inside an aquarium would thrill them. I would love to see them standing in front of a glass wall, observing 100’s of live sea creatures swimming within a foot of them. That would be something.😮
Yes, a trip to a big aquarium park would be mind-blowing enough. Or show them the entire Blue Planet documentary series. I have watched them all dozens of times and never lose interest. Very few people don't find enjoyment watching animals, especially ones they have never seen or could never see otherwise.
[the shrimps] :" I think there's something special going on " So do I, but I would never have been able to say it in such an elegant " lets-get-on-to-the-next-topic" way.
Some of these creatures are very small, but the giant phantom jelly (9:08) is very large. Stygiomedusa gigantea's bell is more than a meter across and the 4 "arms" can be up to 10 meters long. They do not sting, their arms are oral ribbons (the "mouths", if you will) and they eat plankton and small fish by trapping and engulfing them.
Oooh, a Dees Sea Oddities react - I wished for something like this! I wonder if the text within the video was dubbed for them. Looked more like they read for themselves as far as they could. However, for more ocean and deep sea reacts I'll always be here! Something about whales someday, maybe? :)
"Sir" translates all of the text/captions for them. They are watching the original video, but are listening to the Hindi translation in the headphones. He puts a lot of time and effort into making these videos happen.
A funny thought I had is imagining biologists reacting the same genuine way like "whoooooo what is it??? some sort of spider??" "i feel the same way! Loooook it moooved!"
One thing I always admire is that they let Baba speak first because he’s the elder and more often than not carries knowledge unbeknown to the younger guys. The world needs more of that
I wish I could be part of these sessions. I wanna tell them we know more about the moon than we do about the bottom of the ocean, and that all these things blow my mind as well. The Blue Planet series is my favorite documentary series. There is so much variety of life in the oceans, and we would never have the chance to see it otherwise. Its very relaxing to watch too. I saw flying fish and wild dolphins for the first time ever in the Gulf of Mexico and I was amazed. I could watch them all day.
You all must sit around village fires at night and share these things you've seen, tasted and heard about with everyone... in time many will look at you guys as wise and knowledgeable scholars... wise elders of MUCH knowledge. :-))
This was a much better video than the Mariana Trench video, the information was brief but was more informative with actual footage from the ROV and there were some creatures even I haven't seen. Please show more videos like this or diving expeditions with real time commentary.
I have a suggestion. Let them react to hurricanes and tropical storms in the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. I write this suggestion as Hurricane Ian blows past me.
Now they need to see great white sharks jumping out of the water with seals, orcas, humpback whales, thrasher sharks, nurse sharks, tiger and bull sharks.
Sunlight only penetrates the water to a depth of about 10 meters...these sea creatures have eyes but the question is whether they "see" at that depth. the pressure is so great it is unlikely they are able to live with the very small pressure at the surface. Many wash up on beaches and have exploded into a indistinguishable mass.
Most of the creatures that live at the bottom of the ocean, have never been seen by mankind, because we have no way to dive down far enough and be able to survive the immense pressure of weight of all the ocean on us. But we have been able to dive inside small machines that are resistant to the higher pressures and that’s how these videos are made. The machine you can see in some shots is the camera unit inside a machine that can go deeper than people can. Because it’s so dark at these depths, many of the creatures living there, are blind because they have no need to see. They often sense things around them by other means.
They seem to think all sharks are dangerous. How about showing them video compilations of divers having friendly interactions with different kinds of sharks?
I would like to see their reaction to ghosts captured on film.. I would really like for Babu, Raeen and Saru to react to ghost videos and give us their thoughts on such things. Have they ever had any experiences with spirits? It would be great since Halloween season has arrived
Commenting before watching. This channel has a poor track record with marine life videos ("shark attacks" are actually orcas, Mariana Trench video full of pseudoscience, etc) so I really hope this is more up to par.
Giant creatures please .... blue whales, giant octopuses and squids, whale sharks etc. Songs of sperm whales. Coral reefs and the ecosystems they support.
Please have them react to American serial killers like Jeffrey Dahmer, it is one of the most popular topics in the US and is trending right now because of the new Dahmer series on netflix. Also I think it would fit good with a Halloween theme of October.
It's amazing... I'm thinking the Lord Jesus had fun creating life forms... as we are His greatest creation made in His image... as a man, not a God one can no longer see, nd He will come again in a twinkle of an eye :-)
