The thing Saru said about how the people in his village will call him crazy to talk about sea creatures that glow. My own mother once called me crazy for mentioning a sea creature with glowing eyes! But I reminded her that she sees lightning bugs every summer and they have glowing bellies so why can't a sea creature have glowing eyes? Lol

I wonder if they have fireflies and glow-worms in their part of the world? It's not something I would usually think about, but my sister-in-law from Canada visiting Kentucky was fascinated by the local fireflies, because they couldn't be found so far north, and I suppose they might not be found on other continents! Fireflies were certainly one of the first things I thought of, too, for comparison to those glowing deep-see creatures! I've never been to sea, but people who have describe all sorts of glowing things in the water, including so many tiny glowing plankton/algae/whatever that the ocean itself seems to glow like it's on fire! To me, the ocean seems to me like it would surely be a strange and haunting place to live - so much that is unknown, and so much that is alien to someone like me!
@elteescat
@elteescat 2 года назад
@@pietrayday9915 it's funny, but it never really occurred to me that other places in the world don't have lightning bugs. They've been there every summer all my life. I can't imagine a place without them! As far as the glowing plankton, I've always wanted to see that. Sounds so wild.

The problem seems to be, that the channel owners doesn't explain much of the scientific facts. They don't know, how the Northern Lights are formed and i think they still think, that the Atomic Bombs, thrown at Hiroshima and Nagasaki were full of gunpowder instead of radioactive material. This video is the FIRST search result for 'deep sea creatures'. The creators have become really lazy. It seems as if they just want to pump out videos to generate more ad revenue, and don't care about the quality of the content. It's like they don't even try to find something suitable. That would take a little bit more time/effort. They don't listen to feedback. I think they've become greedy and lazy from all the money that is being made by the channel.

This is why it’s so important that we develop and expand the use of energy across the world, as energy use is the fundamental measurement of human prosperity. Consider this: what has America been able to develop over the last century? Now remember that India by itself has 4 times the population, yet uses about a third of the energy of the US per person. How much could the Indian people advance humanity if they had easy access to the energy levels of the US? Alternatively, how much are we hobbling humanity by not expanding energy use and freeing up people to develop new things? Is this not the greatest evil of our time, that we harm both humanity as a whole, let alone the well-being of those without access to such energy?

That was... better than I expected. Not nearly as sensationalistic and full of nonsense as I feared at the beginning. Although all these movie scenes within the video might have been distracting and misleading, the overall information was sufficiently accurate. Especially hinting at the actual size of angler fishes and viper fishes was definitely an important bit of the video. I still think a more thorough and serious glance at deep sea life could be very interesting for the three, as in Deep Sea Wonders Of The Pelagic Zone and Exploring Life On The Deep Sea Floor, both from Natural World Facts. But until then, quite a solid pick for a deep sea video!

Every time I see a clip from a movie with a cg monster I cringe because I don't know if they will think it's real or not.

Very good observation by Raeen that due to the high pressures of the deep sea, only small animals live there

How about showing them scary animals like sharks, tigers or pumas being all playful and cute with humans? I know there are a handful of videos about those.

The youtube channel Deepsea Oddities has some of the best videos on deep ocean creatures. It would be cool to see what the guys think about em

I've become very wary going into ocean-related videos on this channel because every single ocean-related video thus far has been filled with misinformation or fiction.

Please make a episode and show us where and how Sarru, Babu & Raeen lives. It will make it easier to understand where they come from.

Ramen seems like a sponge trying to soak up information. He intently watches and listens to videos that interest him. Concentrating as others talk.

Can someone explain why comb jellyfish are beginning to appear in freshwater zones?

Love watching Babu, he often starts with denying that such things can exist. He seems to want to exert some sort of age related authority over the other younger men. Then he begins to watch a video and sees something new and perhaps contradictory. His hands immediately start to reflect his emotion, he is obviously a very emotional man. He touches his head and mouth a lot then begins to see another picture forming. Often he will chatter along the way but this appears to be a sort of face saving thing. The younger men are so respectful to Babu, they listen warmly to him. Educating your mind is sometimes painful, it requires acceptance that we know far less than we think. Letting go of this is what truely opens up your mind. There is no shame in saying ‘I don’t know.’ However, if you are in a position of authority, make it your business to find out by the next time we meet. These are joyful clips that bring warm memories of my time in PNG in the seventies. Keep showing the tribesmen everything you can think of, it is such a joy to see them learning about the wider world. I note the younger men are far more accepting of new information, but that’s the purpose of youth isn’t it. To rebel, to turn us in new directions and show us stuff we would not have bothered to investigate. Great video !
