They can show others how to do some of these things, whereas having a tool bought online can't be passed on to numerous other people who then also want to show others, and so on. What I'm trying to say is that would be better to get them a big box of magnets, than to get them a magnetic hammer.

First, it has nothing to do with the technology. A craftsman is a craftsman no matter what his tools are. It's how skilled he is at creating the end product that defines a craftsman, not what he uses to do something. As to which Aman is, you have to take the translations into account. He's not choosing the word. The producer or maybe Google Translate is. Choices could vary at any time. The producer uses serviceable English, but I've seen on the Patreon site that he's not perfect at it. He may not realize there's a difference. And shadings of meaning are hard to get straight in a foreign language. Plus sometimes there are no precise translations of some words between languages. Among working class people two words are commonly used mazdoor (unskilled labour) and karigar( craftsman/skilled labour). Due to cultural differences in Indian subcontinent people who are skilled labour and people who are craftsman are addressed by same word karigar. Here a carpenter and a sculptor who works with wood are defined by same word even though there's lots of difference in the quality and final product they make. Another example would be a painter who paints houses and an artist who makes paintings will also be referred to as karigar. Though there are specific words which make it more clear who is what like Chitrakaar (artist) and Rangwale (painter) but the general term is karigar (Craftsman/ skilled labour).
