That was a great performance I likely wouldn't have seen had you not presented it to them. They were a wonderful band, very well put together, and dancing and playing at the same time, especially blowing horns, definitely speaks of much training. Great video!

I was in marching band and concert band from middle school through high school. I enjoyed performing and traveling to competitions in different states and winning a lot. 😃 It does take a lot of stamina, but when you start young or just have determination, the hours and hours of practice and performing isn't so bad because you get used to it. 🙂 We performed at Disney World during hurricane season, and though I'm used to tornado season where I live, seeing the ocean building up as a hurricane is still hundreds of miles away is an amazing sight. We got caught in a heavy rain while at Sea World and they closed the park because the weather was getting worse. We had one more night to stay in our hotel before driving back to Alabama, but were told we might have to stay or go to a shelter if the storm moved in quicker. Our parents were notified and I called my mom and told her I didn't want to be in Florida with a hurricane. I'm an Alabama tornado girl.😄 The storm went another direction and though still stormy, we were able to get on the busses two days later and go home. 🙂

All of my kids were in the marching band at their high schools. I've always enjoyed watching them compete.

Wheeeee! There is nothing quite as good in a parade as a marching band. We have a big festival every year with parades, and a band competition among all the high school bands that are invited to march. One of my favorites is from one of our sister cities, a city in China, that sends their all-girl band from a big high school. One great part if you're at the parade is feeling the music in your bones as they march by playing. It's amazing.

Practice Practice Makes Perfect👏🏻👏🏻 Awesome Marching Performance 👌🏻 Carnival season MARDI GRAS has arrived in New Orleans, Louisiana USA If possible show them video of the Parades. Choice parade is Endymion. My son is a member and rider. All the parades are fabulous. I truly believe the panel would enjoy the festivities. “Bon Ton Roulet” LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL.

Do these guys know this marching band is from a high school in Japan? Did their high school have a marching band? Have they ever heard or seen a marching band? They seemed astounded by the instruments, the arrangements, the band uniforms, and the choreography !

Most never went to high school and it isn't the USA. Other cultures do not have marching bands in the way the US does. Most are too poor to buy an instrument anyway. They have drums and some western-style instruments but in the villages mostly traditional instruments. I'm astounded that you don't grasp the difference in culture.

@@xymonau2468 The Pakistan military has a marching band that has won international competitions.

@@voidmstr Was it attached to a high school? That was the question - re school bands. Nobody says there are no bands there. But find me a school marching band in India if you want to prove me wrong.

@@xymonau2468 I think @voidmstr wasn't trying to "prove you wrong" -- they were just surprised that these guys were amazed by things that are fairly simple, like there being many different types of instruments and that the instruments make different sounds. The Kyoto Tachibana band is pretty incredible, though I wonder how much they can appreciate how incredible they are without having seen other marching bands. Also, for most people who have been in marching bands, they're incredulous how much stamina KTHS has -- these guys mentioned that they're high-energy, but I'm not sure they realize just how high energy you have to be when also playing an instrument. It's like you have to yell "Kabbadi" repeatedly at the top of your lungs while running a hurdles race.

@@sgardner4313 Oh, he/she WAS. That's why they mentioned military bands, as if that proved that school there must have marching bands. Their original context was why would they be surprised. They must have seen the instruments in their school band.

America did not invent brass bands. They are not imitating US bands, they are much better than that.

Their seniors incorporated American jazz dance show performances into marching. Their performances are original and far from imitating American marching.
