me, knowing the medley: oh, 'hellfire' is gonna be jude, not only for the obvious desolation vibes, but for her own love and devotion for agnes! me, seeing jon instead: OH NO THAT'S MORE FITTING AND IT HURTS

I love how fitting Hellfire is for John Sims, the lyrics regarding being better or more righteous than the rest is how he's still trying to see himself as human and not an avatar or monster, when he still does monstrous things. In the original, "why I see her standing there" is like, he can't stop thinking about Esmeralda, but for John it's more literal and "her smoldering eyes still scorch my soul" is feeling the Eye's influence on him. Hellfire is about being a weak person who succumbs to their own basic compulsion and selfish desires, like John started doing by compelling random strangers on the street and bringing their fears and nightmares to the forefront of their minds because he feels "hungry" otherwise, when the truly "Righteous" thing to do would be to just. Suffer that pain so many more people don't have to suffer.

Also, I'm a big fan of the insinuation that the "mama" in mother knows best is the Mother of Puppets

THE SNARKY VIBE OF MICHAEL, THE LITTLE SHIMMY THAT NIKOLA DOES, THE EYES AS THE JUDGING CHORUS IN JONS BIT, ANNABELLE LOOKS SO DELIGHTED WHAT A LITTLE GOBLIN, UGH JUST EVERY CHOICE IN THE MICHAEL SHELLEY BIT GOD HE LOOKS SO DEVASTATED, MR MANGUS HIMSELF BEING A DRAMATIC BASTARD MAN THIS IS A FUCKING MASTERPIECE

Considering I’m only 2 and a half seasons in, seeing Jon included in this was confusing and fear inducing. GOOD JOB

the hellfire and jon parallel just kicked me and i'm never going to hear it any other way. Also Annabelle and Jonah is spot on, this is really great.

This is fantastic. The creepy, faux helpful vibe fits Micheal well; The posturing and vibrancy fits Nicola; while Hellfire doesn't quite fit lyric wise, I love its vibe as a "man, hopelessly entangled, pleads with his god" song and it ends up fitting very well; Annabelle and any song regarding manipulation is an instant win. I was surprised with you bringing in Michael Shelley, but I get it- the Bouncing, foreboding song gives off spiral vibes, and he falls victim to it very easily. I could rewatch the Jonelias bit 100 times without tiring.

Better songs for each character couldn't have been picked omg. Hellfire for Jonathan? Amazing. The Other Side for Micheal? Gave me f e e l i n g s. And ending it with Elias gave such a sense of doom *chef's kiss* I loved it great job

THIS WAS AMAZING!!! I Got chills when It transitioned from Nikola's bit to Jon's bit. I was completely not expecting you to include Jon in the villain's medley and GOD what a cool surprise. I also loved the bit where Annabelle Cane was holding her arms out and it shifted to her being controlled by puppet strings. This was so so so cool!! The way you did the motions to make them so fluid without much animation (that I could see) was awesome as well!! How did you do it?

the eye closing on michael shelly's end is just. so perfect. every little choice you made here is just so fantastic and fitting. the way that the animation bounces and moves is just so nice and refreshing to see. fantastic!

OH MY GODD I LOVE THISSS!! Also when I saw the colors change and Jon's name pop up I actually lost it because that was such a cool surpise that Jon was included in the medley like wowowowowow!!!!

Nikola singing be prepared is PERFECT, and Michael for friends on the other side is just. So choice. Jared Hopworth could also totally fit Ursula, (transform your body for a price!), Jude Perry is perfect for Hellfire too (imagine her singing about Agnes with relish instead of anguish), and I can also see Peter Lukas singing mother knows best to Martin, encouraging him to keep himself isolated! Disney villain songs are hella versatile.

Things I LOVE about this - Jon’s fits so well? - The transitions but especially the one from Nickolai to Jon - Nikolai’s verse and dance and design! You captured the Perfect energy for them - “you got what you wanted but you lost what you had” sent tears to my eyes - Annabelle’s string are the end!! - Also her outfit - the fact you even thought to put these characters to this song. GENUIS! - basically everything else too Edit: ALSO - 1:22 makes me emotional - fuckiN ELIAS

Okay, so 1: the song choices are perfect. Hellfire for Jon is such an unexpected but amazing bit. Monster Jon rights 2: holy shit your art is magnificent, especially in the Michael Shelly part 3: the way another chunk of eyes opens around Jonah at the end as each of the other songs gets title dropped again? Best damn part of the video. Thank you so much for making this

Ok, so I was very surprised to see Jon in Hellfire as I was 10000% sure it's gonna be Jude Perry (I think many of us expected that) plus I expected to see only antagonists (Jon made few questionable decisions but he is not a bad person) and I must say PUTTING HIM IN THAT SONG WAS THE MOST HEARTBREAKING THING EVER MADE, IT LITERALLY MADE ME CRY. I would never throught about possibility of puting Jon in that song and then when I saw how you done it, it was so clear it suits him ten times better than Jude. This is an amazing video, congras. You are also very talented, the drawings are so beautiful. I knew this medley for a while and always loved it altrought I'm not a big fan of Disney and seeing it combined with TMA made the whole thing even better. I watched this like 10 times in a row. Seems like you got a new subscriber :)

I literally adore all the characters you chose for each part of the medley, even though my personal opinion of a character for Hellfire is different (I would say it was Jude singing about Agnes but- this is only bc I’m hella gay). I’m literally in happy tears seeing Nikola as my favorite Disney villain since she’s my favorite character and I’m imagining the hyenas as Breekon and Hope. ANYWAYS- this is an amazing animatic, I love your choice of characters and their designs are *chef’s kiss* beautiful!

(I also find it kind of hilariously ironic because the actual song is about lust and he’s ace.) Michael Shelley’s second part was so sad. Good job!!

oH MY GOD ALL OF THIS IS SO GOOD???? Like your art is so perfect and I love your character designs??? The transitions??? The animated bits???? Perfect???? Also it's so rare I see Annabelle Cane in avatar-related stuff, thank you for this gift of her That Jon part I swearrrr to god, the way you draw The Beholding is so perfect, it really captures the oppressive being-watched feeling that the fear is, it's like,,, the first time I really Got the horror of it, just this inescapable watching and scrutiny, so hats off on that, even canon beholding stuff hasn't nailed the point down as effectively as you have here. And the tone of the song is so perfect too??? Like Jon's struggle with humanity is such a good parallel to Frollo (though quite a bit less creepy), he so wants to be a "good person" (and just a human in general) and is so wrapped up in this idea of him being a martyr (and to some extent he is, don't get me wrong!!) but it's also like,,, there's a period where as much as he's angsting over it, he's still ripping statements out of people with no real remorse, and even his angst is completely self-absorbed too, just like,,, such a good parallel. Oh god and plus he's so well suited to being The Archivist but he keeps clinging desperately to his "humanity" and dfghgmjmgnfdsagfhmnfgdsdas this animatic does so good with it Oh god and poor Michael, that final scene with him just hurt my poor heart, I love how you draw Pre-Spiral Michael, he just looks So Friend Shaped (this is just a personal little silly thing, but I love the way his name flashes in the beginning, with the music it looks like he's a video game character about to run through a level ghkjhghkhj). But I love your way of drawing the Spiral's corridors too!!!! It's so trippy and the way it syncs with the music too just *chefs kiss* beautiful, wonderful, I'm in love Please never stop making TMA content, I'm in love with all of this so much

WHAT THE FRICK THIS IS SO EXCELLENT I need to write an enormous comment WITH TIMESTAMPS because this video is- it's genius, and I'm in love so: 0:12 - when Michael's eyes open to "in need" like SHSHSHH DOES ANYONE REMEMBER that s2 finale and "you need a door" anyway the animation was so smooth there got chills.... and then in 0:18 the door opening to "yes indeed" and again 0:29, when the facade falters and her real voice "yes I do" breaks with you incorporating those spirals like DAMN YES Ursula amd Michael, their theatrics and dramatic way of speaking is so similar and I'm in awe. NIKOLA AS SCAR YES!!! both of them have really grand schemes and that carnivalesque musical backdrop uh YEAH. 0:43-0:45 "and where do we feature? Just listen to teacher" that whole part!!! Chef's kiss!! Delightful. Also love how you stuck to her body parts and not her expression to convey that strangeness and not!themness. At 1:03 when the screen becomes grey for Jonathan and I went 👀👀👀 because it. Made. SO. Much sense. I can't even pick timestamps, favourite part of the song and favourite part of the video too. Every time you aligned the choral voices to the eyes and the lyrics and just Jon's angsty ass fits so so well. Incredible. and 1:22-1:24 that nuance in his expression as he struggles with his pride..... literally CHILLS. Annabelle listing the other entities as potential threats, Annabelle being the manipulative gaslighter as Gothel is,, so so fitting and well done!! 2:49 I SCREAMED. Friends on the other side/Michael is kind of sad but also so amazingly shown, that refrain of "you're changing, you're changing, you're changing" with each of his avatar traits slowly forming....and that final curtain drop with "you lost what you had" Jonah and that touch of Elias was so unexpected and yet so right again. Jafar and he are both a particular kind of slimy git and they are both scheming about something. sitting on that throne and cooking up his little schemes, he is so NASTY love that for him. This is so good! I’ve only just finished bingeing through TMA and this is the perfect thing to watch to deal with all the Feels it has left me with :D I wasn’t sure about how well Hellfire fitted at first, but now it gives me chills (I love where the eyes take over at the end, and the finale with the Watcher’s Crown) and the other ‘villain’ parts fit so perfectly (Michael Shelley’s transformation, Annabelle’s puppet imagery, just the whole ending with Jonah) great job, I loved this!

ok i know i already commented but i have more stuff to say im sorry... the orange highlights in jon's part are beautiful, the way you animated the spiral's corridors is awesome, and im in love with the way you draw jonah, he looks like such a bastard lmaooo also the cut in the music is so seamless that when i went back to listen to the original again i legit was surprised at the missing part

this is SO GOOD!!!! this is the kind of content i am here for!!!! thank u for feeding a starving fan who just binged all the way thru this podcast!! your animatics have such a bounce and swing in their motion that's super unique and captivating, i can't get enough of it. i must simply rant now about my favorite parts. all of these songs fit the characters perfectly! when nikola's bit kicked in i was like oh YES it works so WELL... and then when jon came in i was Shook i was not expecting it at all, but i was so immediately impressed and in love with the idea of including him. the slow breakdown to him on his knees with the eyes of the beholding surrounding him... *chef finger kiss*... and the bit when annabelle's arms are held up by the strings... and the entirety of michael shelley's bit aaaahhh!!! i eat up any sort of michael content so it was a huge serotonin blast to see (some form of) him featured more than once, and the song created such an atmosphere of dramatic irony... its so high energy and that a) creates so much tension as he unknowingly walks straight through the door and b) adds a lot to the chaotic mood of the spiral. and then when the song slows down to the "you're changing" part my heart just Broke. in short, this is incredible, thank you so much for sharing it with us! hope ur shoulder feels better because doing all this in two days is DAMN impressive

I was just rocking out to this (being the overdramatic theatre kid that I am) and the second time I played it through singing along I actually managed to hold that last note all the way through. I legitimately squealed with excitement. Bonus: Also, I (an alto) had to pause the video to get a drink of water after my second time singing (fullout performing in my bedroom) the frollo part. Singing the whole thing that low twice killed my throat.
