I remember something about him and man in the moon had a conflict, pitch was a giant and he got stabbed in the heart by someone with similar powers as Jack frost? Kai is probably the best villain of fiction. The guy is an unstoppable force that got betrayed by his best friend and is returning to destroy everything. Also his theme is PERFECT

We must remember that Oogway and kai together were extremely well known and successful generals, meaning they fought and won wars, conquered lands, and killed many people who likely weren't bad. After being saved by the pandas, Oogway likely changed his perspective on life, and decided to change for the better, and kai did not, so they clashed. Kai probably felt betrayed that his brother in arms who was just as bad as he was, suddenly switched to being a benevolent person and was fighting him. Afterwards from today's perspective, several hundred years later, noone remembers Kai at all, and noone sees Oogway in a bad light, why? This would have been a legendary clash between the 2 strongest generals in all of China, and yet noone remembers one of the participants. In the movie Kai says something along the lines of Oogway destroyed his memory, so he's going to do the same, making me think that after oogway banished kai, he did his best to rewrite history, removing kai from any text he could other than the one he wrote in that special scroll from the movie. So obviously after 500 years noone would remember him since the only people who would remember kai would have to be passing down stories by word of mouth, for 500 years, without having an actual reason to. This not only explains Kai's emotions, but also why noone knows who he is, and why he's so confused by it at first, since he knows he was an extremely famous figure back when he died. Now of course most of this is headcannon, but I think it makes a ton of sense. I still love master Oogway, but its cool to image the grandfatherly turtle as a ruthless general, killing all in his path. Pitch is actually a broken character. His backstory about why and how he became pitch black is really heartbreaking. Also like death he is just doing his "job" to bring fear over humankind. And fear is actually a good thing, because fear protects you from doing dangerous things that could kill you.
Death is not just doing his job. The job of the Grim Reaper, or Death, is to guide the dead to the afterlife, not kill them. Puss had not died yet and so he had no reason to go after him other than just hating him (for a pretty good reason, I'll admit)
I mean to be fair Puss died 8 times, and in all 8 of those lives he lived recklessly, and without caring for, or valuing any of those lives. If not for Death, it is likely Puss would've lived his last life chasing glory, and dying lonely, since he might not have met Kitty Softpaws again or Perrito. He only cared about his life after meeting them again and accepting that he doesn't need to be a lone swordsman hero, and that there's others he can depend on. He didn't value his lives because he was afraid of making connections, and being vulnerable, to anyone but himself.
You see. HE ISNT THE GRIM REAPER. The grim reaper kills people. He is littearly DEATH ITSELF Not a Reaper that brings people death he is the concept of "death" itself meaning that he killed anyone who ever died. He is just doing his job

As stated by Death himself, the wolf was having fun while hunting Puss in Boots. So, even though he was "doing his job" he was cruel and wanted Puss in Boots to suffer, in other words, he is pure evil
For people who say death was doing his job. He was in the first couple minutes of the movie before puss died but during the scene where puss meets his self from his past lives, death said that he found the idea of 9 lives absurd and he wanted to end the ninth one quickly
If he wanted Puss dead he would’ve ended him earlier in the movie, like when he was running in the woods you see death was everywhere and in the giant glass thing death would’ve killed hu I’m due to how fast he is, so no the phrase “Pick it up” was death helping Puss

Death wanted Puss to change for the better. If he seriously wanted to kill Puss for shits and giggles he could’ve done so a thousand times. I think he wanted to push him to the edge to make him value his life. The only time Death intervened was when Puss decided to cheat Death by running away to more wishes. Death left Puss alone when he was by himself or with the dog and cat. He only tried attacking him again when he got closer to getting the wish
@@chill3282 I think it was just more of a sadism. He meant to absolutely humiliate and break Puss. killing him quickly wasn't his concern. He could do that any time if he wanted to but he was more sadistic in his attempt to continuously give Puss traumas upon traumas, making Puss absolutely fear him. The audacity of Puss laughing at him was what set him off on his path to destroy Puss. Death had a grudge against him for not taking him seriously and continuously saying "I laugh at the face of death!" and wanted to make him suffer for as long as he could during his last life, before finally getting his sweet, satisfying kill. That's why he left Puss alone when he was living as lap kitty for granny. He was probably still watching him, reveling in how much he has fallen. He shows up to remind Puss of his place as soon as Puss gets happy and "heroic" during the escape from Pie boy's mansion. Letting him know that he's always watching and can get him any time. He then confronts Puss in the Crystal cave, knowing that he is close to getting his wish, yet he doesn't care for it, because he is nearing the end of his hunt. After revealing his identity and continuing his sadistic hunt, He finally intends to actually kill him as he is satisfied from Puss' fear of him. Only to realize his sadistic actions themselves pushed Puss to mature up and finally face Death seriously. At that moment, he loses his passion, because now he RESPECTS Puss. He no longer wants to belittle and humiliate him, for he now realized that he has grown up. He lost the very reason behind his chase. He even complains in frustration that he shouldn't have played with his food in Spanish. He accidentally helped Puss, but his intent was fully, and utterly, sadistic and sinister.

the reason kai is both: watch Kung Fu Panda 3 kai and oogway were friends like brothers but then they were ambushed, oogway was injured and he can barely wake up then kai went to the panda village then they taught oogway chi but kai wanted the power all to himself and that's why

I agree that death is only doing its job, it is true that death wants to take away his last life prematurely from puss, but we must remember that puss was making fun of death and in a way provoking it by saying that " laughed at death" and not valuing their past lives, which also happens in real life and that does not make death evil
Titan is pure evil, but the fatty boy behind the superhero is a bit broken. He's like syndrome from incredibles, he uses a relatively simple excuse (not being accepted) to cause caos and react bad.

It's literally pointed out in the movie that Death knows what he is doing is wrong. He is going out of his way to kill Puss. That doesn't sound like doing his job
When was it pointed out that he's doing wrong? He taking puss's last life because he didn't value his 8 lives. So, why should he be deserved to live another life when he doesn't care for them? So once death see that he starts to value his last life he let's him live since he see that he's change.

Death immediately shuts him up because he knows what he doing is cheating. Puss still has one more life isn't actively dying. Pitch Black was broken, he never had joy in his childhood so grew a vengeance. Titan was sad after he was rejected and showed no love by that girl, so he grew a resentment. Just broken.
Death isn't just doing his job. He chose to kill Puss because he wants to and even admits that it's not fair but he doesn't care. He's not pure evil per say but he is a sadist who likes killing people who he doesn't like and will break his own rules.
All because he was told about his defeat in the future by a warrior of black and white. I mean, who WOULDN'T go mad, after hearing a detailed explanation of someone who is going to kill you one day?

And Death admitted it by saying "Don't tell"
Death is very much a villain, not only is he antagonizing puss but he’s also doing this for the thrill, puss still had one life left and death just wanted to end him, he wanted to kill puss because he was jealous that puss had nine lives.
Call me crazy but I actually really enjoy Gallaxar and his movie: 2009’s Monsters vs Aliens. A lot of people think it’s stupid, but I have fun memories of it.
