So a CBS troll had my original video deleted because I used their game footage...so I took out their game footage and replaced it with more awesome fan footage and reactions...ENJOY!!!
I wonder if there has ever been a study on the exact fan behavior at basketball games....when the shot is put up, everyone puts their hands up almost instinctively....its amazing..
I was wondering the same thing. Venue to venue it's the same hands up move. It's like they are loading their chamber for the big moment. But it didn't happen when there were smaller groups. Bizarre.
Just a thought...but the signal a referee must give when a three point shot is put up is 1 hand up.. if it goes in, he puts the 2nd hand up. So over years, that signal has become muscle memory for all fans. In a buzzer beater field goal attempt to win the game, fans dont lift their hands up, so it just might be a "three point basketball shot" thing.
Kinda stupid if you ask me... but you're not asking me so.. I never knew people raised their hands like that during games like that (buzzer beaters)... and I love going to games.
1982,1983,1985, 1987, 1989, 1994,1997, 1999, 2010 All were one possesion games that basically came down to the last shot. The only one of those that was won at the buzzer was '83, with NC State shocking Houston. Although this Villanova game had a spectacular ending with the 3 by Paige and then the buzzer beater by Jenkins, I still think the greatest Villanova championship game was Villanova stunning Georgetown in 85. They had to shoot over 70% in the first half to take the lead and then shot 90% in the second half just to win by 2.
Best finals I've ever seen. UNC tied it with a three point shot and Nova won it with a three point shot as time expired. Back to back threes. Incredible game.
Love the very end. You and your dad. So fun! I was at a bar watching the game. Greatest sporting event I have ever seen. When we hit the shot, I hugged my fiancé so hard, I broke her glasses. 🤓
Just like Lee Laural posted before me, I think one of the coolest things about watching sports is how people put their hands in the air in anticipation of a score. In this video, I love seeing hundreds of people in the Pavilion do it simultaneously just before the winner goes in.
Thanks for this Championship tribute it was awesome. As a life long Nova fan of 40 years from age 6 at the Palestra with my Dad and a proud alum, I will be returning here to view this video when I need to relive the chill and same feelings of that night one week ago.
This was the best day of munchies life by far. When unc hit the shot I thought we were gonna lose in ot, then Jenkins, our best shooter hits that last one and I ran down my block with a nova flag screaming and then crying and throwing up😂😂, what a day!!!!
the nols controlled the national title game all second half...if kris Jenkins didn't get into foul trouble they would have won by 20+....they were clearly the better team ...they dominated the tournament....kris had 14 points and he was their best defender and shooter and player all tournament long..imagineif he got to play his normal 34 minutes..
I'm a Kansas Jayhawk fan, but this video is AWESOME! We were in the same position not too long ago, and I'll never forget how crazy Chalmers' three was (and that was just to go to overtime). I can't imagine experiencing a three to win it all.
Donna, I just watched your video again to make me feel better about Villanova's loss to Kansas. I forgot this is the first time I have watched your video since my father passed away last May. Needless to say the feels were intense at the end of your masterpiece. I was saddened to see your father passed away too in November. Both our dads were Marines. From what I can tell your father was just as a good a man as mine. It ain't easy. But, I hope you are well and getting by. I send to you and your family my most heartfelt condolences. ~ Sean
SoonAsYouCan my dad and I were so happy I bought a nova National champions shirt to piss off some Carolina fans love to watch this come March hope we win this year
Well congrats Villanova. Though my team hasn't won it as dramatically as that, as a Gator fan I know what the feeling of winning NCs is like. Well done.
I love the way it smacks Kenny Smith..Michael Jordan and all UNC allumni right in their Carolina Blue face..priceless..big props to Sir Charles Barkley for jumping about 2 inches off the ground cheering for Nova
Hoosier fan here. I know the feeling lol. Not the national championship level feeling, but the big buzzer beater FTW feeling. Soooo fuckin glad Nova won that shit. Top ten all time natty hands down.
As a graduate of two BIG EAST rival schools to 'Nova, don't think we weren't partying with them! A title at Nova means a title in the BIG EAST and we all concede that after THREE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP TITLES, Nova is KING of college basketball in PA
In 2016 I was in the hospital for 6 months after I had 3 surgeries it wasn't looking good and I was really depressed. I had no idea Villanova had won the tournament I was really laying in bed in my hospital room wondering if I was going to have a future. I casually asked my father who won the tournament......this video. It kinda brought me back and made realize life can be good.
I still can not believe this game! Best NCAA championship game ever played. A nail biter to the end, with great amazing, clutch shots from both teams. I never get tired looking at the final plays, or all of the fan reactions. Philly fans are the best in the world; passionate, knowledgeable and supportive of their teams, whether it be college or pros, although I must admit, the Philadelphia Eagles still rule among all of the teams. However, it appears the 76's could have a colossal year, assuming everyone stays healthy.
5:45 this will never cease to be my favorite. Greatest shot in NCAA basketball history + Chuck's daughter going to Villanova + Kenny Smith being a salty UNC alum = an incredible reaction from Sir Charles
Outstanding! My husband was a 1962 grad, elder son, a 1988 grad, (frosh when Nova won their, 1st NCAA Tourney), younger son graduated in 1993 as well as my younger daughter. One of my grandsons is a Jr., now. A greatniece graduated, a few years ago and a younger cousin has applied for 2022 admissions. We are our, own Nova Nation. Not bad since my brother and father's HS and college schools were Jesuit! Go Nova!
Its less than 20 miles from downtown Philly. Being the 5th largest market in the nation and with the big five basketball fans around the area, its no surprise there are these many fans.
Watching This right Now, Weds.,3/24/21. 5 years Later. I'm an SC TROJAN, and this Never gets Old. CLASSIC, Best NCAA Game, I've ever seen. ✌🏀n VILLANOVA!😎🏀🍺👍
That's so cool reminds me of when Syracuse won in 2003. I was so glad a big east team won it again that year! Villanova has always been a tough team to beat. I wish Syracuse didn't go to the acc.
Love this, thanks for all the clips! I think my reaction was the 2:00 min guy! lol. I did wake up my neighbor with the screaming, the "holy sh*t!!!," he said "I saw the replay....I didn't watch the game, but from your reaction...I know the exact time when Villanova won" (he wasn't pissed...I think) :)
i’m a kentucky fan, and you know we hate UNC, so i HAD to celebrate. i screamed so loud i might have broken the sound barrier when i saw jenkins sink that shot 😂
Thanks for all of that man!!!!! Lived in west/south philly, delco, and the main line and that was awesome. Love living in Kansas now with all these haters all of a sudden. I tell everyone we're just gonna do every other year from now on!
@K Maxx Uhhh.....nope! Teams fighting back and forth for 40 minutes, then with seconds left, UNC ties it up and then, on the insuing possession, Nova hit the walk-off, game-winning, championship winning shot!! Come on bro, that was it!
@@nubianjay7044 I hope Villanova built kris Jenkins a statue cause I haven’t heard anything in the news regarding his ass since the legendary buzzer beater in 2016
@@michaeldavis3468 damn I’m happy for him. He’s honestly a legend. To hit that cold blooded shot on the biggest moment is honestly insane. Normal people can’t do that.
@@phinaddict4857 for sure. He’ll be a legend forever. Those athletic department jobs are solid too. He’ll probably be an assistant coach there one day if he stays in that program
