Mine is on the way! I’m so excited, one question though, should i update the firmware to the latest as soon as i get it, or try it out first to see if there’s any issues?
Thank you very much for the answers to all the question I had about this very interesting lens to me, being fresh Fuji user who recently swap Nikon for Fuji.
Thanks for the video! I'm definitely waiting to test this one along with their future primes. Unrelated question: The branding blacked-out looks great on your camera. Would you mind sharing the tape or paint process you used for it? Thanks and keep up the great work
Nice review -- one question. To this point, I've only owned an XT-3 with the 16-55. I've been exclusively a landscape guy for years now. I'm starting to get interested in more "lucrative" forms of photography and would like to start shooting people. I invested in a Godox speedlight and more equipment should follow. My question is -- do you think this Viltrox 85 or the 56 f/1.2 would be a better lens to add to my collection? I always hear people say the 135mm (FF equiv.) is good for head and shoulders but it seems, judging by your sample images, you do a lot of full body work. Your advice would greatly appreciated, many thanks in advance.
That’s a tough call, I would say that since you have the 55mm covered in your 16-55 go for the Viltrox 85 so that if you need the reach you are good to go, and it’s only $380. That being said, the 56 1.2 really is special if you are trying to do portraits. Not only is it a beautiful lens, but the working distance is about as far as you want to be from your clients while still being able to direct them. When I use my 85, I almost always give my couples or talent directions up close then run away to get the framing I want. Let me know what you go with!
Great video. Do u use ibis in xh1 with this lens. If so, do u use it in continuous mode or shooting only. And do u turn it off at higher shutter speeds
I leave the ibis on continuous all the time, and it works great for this lens. Ive never had a problem with soft images at higher shutter speeds with ibis
@@jorellegates2103 I have always been turning it off when I didn't think I need it. This is definitely something I will look into. Thank u for the reply. I will try using continuous ibis next wedding I shoot
great lens, but for video the AF is quite jumpy at least that's what I found.. not that it's horrible just shifts focus very quickly not a very smooth transition like with Fuji glass.. or is it just me?
Thank you for your review. I want to buy this lens. Just wanna confirm in eBay there is one called "Viltrox PFU RBM 85mm F1.8 STM AF Portrat Lens for Fujifilm X mount". Is this the version of lens that you're having or there is newer one in there market?
Samples are cool af, can't wait to buy that lens, i started ""pro"" photography 3 weeks ago with a shiny little silver XT30 with 55-200 and viltrox 23 1.4
Should be ok. I’ve never used an xa5 but I did own the xt100 for awhile (same sensor and processor) and it worked just fine with all my Fuji lenses so I don’t see why it wouldn’t work with this lens.
