I was fortunate to be in the same Norwalk High School with the "Young Vince Mendoza," and hear some of the early trends in his style. I'm so glad he kept his focus and then spread that sound as a composer and teacher.
Wow, can't believe I missed this 8 months ago...a lot of great Vince charts to look forward to. Kudos to the WDR web team for the track timestamps, as well as the chapters!
Astoundingly assured, generous and risk-taking all at once. Beautiful compositions and excellent musicianship carries it beyond skillful to an altogether more transcendent place where everything is possible and nothing wasted. Thanks WDR and Vince!
A composer and arranger who has his own orchestra turn his splotches of ink into sound, time and again, is blessed. If this _Klangkörper_ happens to be the WDRBB, his name is most likely Vince Mendoza, lucky b@st@rd!
Greetings WDR! Are we able to get any further info on Thilo Fleckenstein? He's not mentioned anywhere - not by Vince, not in the description, nowhere! Is he a resident writer with WDR also? Also is there any album coming out relating to this performance? Otherwise, great work as usual!
Hi Myles, thank you for your comment. Thank you for your comment. We will add the missing information in the description. Thilo Fleckenstein has participated in our Composer Fellowship program for the last 2 years. He has no internet presence himself. Here you can find some more information about him: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GofgoW2Kd20.html.
Hi Geert! We will provide new information about this theme. Do you know this one: www1.wdr.de/orchester-und-chor/bigband/videos-und-medien/cds/storytellers-100.html
