FAVORITE TRACKS: ARE YOU WITH THAT, SUNDOWN TOWN, TAKING TRIPS, TAKE ME HOME, LIL FADE, MHM
LEAST FAVORITE TRACKS: LAW OF AVERAGES
STRENGTHS: 1) There are a lot of catchy moments with Vince's flows & hooks! 2) It's a short & cohesive project with few, if any, skips. 3) The production from Kenny Beats is smooth & bangin' at the same time! 4) On the surface this seems like a shallow album, but there are a lot of memorable moments & quality bars within the verses. Vince is very vulnerable & introspective on here.
WEAKNESSES: 1) A longer runtime/longer tracks would've added more depth & helped to flesh things out.

This one is definitely a grower forsure. I didn’t read like this at first but I’ve been really digging it more and more especially when switching from headphones to my car. It definitely bangs.

I didn't love this one at first, but it grew on me quickly and I've had it in steady rotation! Can't wait to see what you guys think because I've seen a lot of divisiveness with this album. Also, as pointed out in one of the comments, Vince was born in Compton but raised in Long Beach so I could’ve been more clear there. My only gripe with this album - and I had the same issue with FM - is that it's just way too short and feels like an EP, and as a result of that it sort of lacks the impact I hoped it would have. I don't mind shorter albums but this is shorter than some of his early EPs

Just finish listen this morning and it was pretty dope. Lots of smooth, laid back and trunk rattling production from Kenny Beats. Once again Vince Staples came with solid flows and verses. Even it is 22 minutes still was straight to the point and no filler like other rappers dropping 18 or 20 track albums with bunch of tracks with no connective tissue. Thanks for the review Luke.

This is my favorite Vince project since Summertime '06 for sure. Stolen Youth is still his best imo tho

A pretty smooth listen from start to finish. The only tracks I wasn’t feeling on my first listen was “law of averages” and “taking trips”. Taking trips and the other tracks definitely grew on me. Taking trips is a smooth banger!

I definitely do want to relisten to this again because I wasn't feeling it as much. I'm happy it's not that long but that was also my issue with it because it came and went. He was saying a lot of stuff that I thought was interesting. I had to go back to FM cause that was 22 minutes but I think I wanted more meat to this new album ; FM had more of a concept going.

Idk, this one was just kinda mediocre to me. Even the singles didn't really hit like I thought they would. I fw a lot of the instrumentals but the songs themselves didn't leave as much of an impression. Prob would've given it a 6 myself

I’ve listened to it twice and it’s just not for me. I can appreciate that it’s short and majority of the tracks are under 3 mins, he gets straight to the point with the theme and where he’s going with this project and doesn’t overstay it’s welcome, however it didn’t leave much of an impression imo. For an album structured as an EP it was just lacking that impact. I’ve heard actual EPs that left more of an impression than this. Maybe he could of had features, better instrumentals. Idk for a short album it was quite boring.
