What a beautiful machine, ( well, both of them really ). Modern machines maybe more economical and faster but the sound of a big single thumping away as it disappears out of sight is magical. A very interesting and informative video of this great British motorcycle.

If I had one, I'd park it in the living room! Motorcycles of today got nothing on the classics, regarding style, sound....and I learned what H.R.D stand for!

very nice collection and an enjoyable video -- very cool to have the two bikes made in same month, sent to same dealer back together again... wonder what stories they've shared about their lives...

Great bikes , with great stories . My Yamaha TR1 owes much to Vincent HRD . The company purchased a Vincent -twin, along with a Harley-Davidson and after studying them , produced their first large-capacity V-Twin. They used their basic swing-arm principle and made the engine a stressed-part of the frame . As a 'Nod' to Vincent, they also included a 'quirkey' rear-guard that Reviewers of the time failed to recognise, or like . The histories (all) of motorcycle evolution , never fail to interest and surprise me . Channels like yours are very informative . Dave NZ

Brilliant video. And the suspension set up currently copied by Triumph on the Bobber and Harley-Davidson on the new Softail frame 👍

Excellent! I’m in the researching phase that one goes through before purchasing a classic. This answered some of the questions I had about the classic bikes. Chiefly I was looking for why the Vincent’s are generally more expensive than Norton’s. I appreciate the upload.

Vincents of the 30s 40s and 50s were made to a much higher specification and quality than the majority of Norton's at the time. Although you can find Nortons such as the international in the 30s and manx in the 50s (both highly tuned racing models) that would match the price of a Vincent in their respective eras.

Hi beautiful machines especially the pre-war, I wont deny I cringed when I heard the words hardtail to discribe a rigid bike though he did include rigid, even US bikes were rigid, choppers, modified and aftermarket hardtail frames were hardtail, call me pedantic over American termanology i.e. ears - headlamp brackets, triple-trees - yokes in UK vids. I nearly had a coronary when a young guy in his 30's refered to my 37 Velocette MSS as a hardtail. Even some words are creeping in like Alooominum and debreee. That rant over a great and well-presented and interesting vid. Thank you. I have a 51 Comet, a well maintained nice patina'd bike and though all original without any bolt-on rubbish has been referred to by the uninitiated as a rat bike. I'm good with that. Just to look at the engine gives pleasure.

My Late father had a few different models of Vincent's in the 50' & 60's and up to the 70's when he sold the last bike, his Black shadow for a pittance, don't think he realised what a collectable bike they would be now, he was from Wolverhampton, would love to know if someone still has one of his bikes in their collection.
