"Mr. Freedom Cheeseburger Man, what are your views on the economy?" "Legalize weed" "...Very well. What are your views on carbon footprint?" "Legalize weed"
Thing i never should give to joel. 1.Presidential power and or rule over people 2.A containment center. 3.A fortress filled with dwarf people. 4.Nuclear weaponry. and 5. THE BONES
DEWG Oh bravo, using a real condition, that´s pretty serious by the way, to insult a random person on the internet, bravo humanity is going far with people like you in it, seriously well done
Tuffluck 1337 The reason why Obama won was because while he did litterally nothing in his first presidency, the only other choice was Mitt Romney, who everyone knew was a corrupt buisiness man.
+Gorillabot3000 if you replace Obama with any presidential candidate (R or D), and Mitt Romney with Donald Trump, you'll have described the 2016 election XD
Cybermat47 If you replaced Obama with Hillary, people would actually vote for Trump just so that when he innevitably fucks up the country, at least he would do it entertainingly.
This game is so stupid I love it. "Ronney" looks like his face got run over and "Ohama"'s forehead is flat and his face is so tiny. So far, Joel hasn't noticed Cheeseburger Man blinks in the corner.
Ace Starstream The whole game was a lie. They promised all this shit and then we got a different game. We were all lied to. Thats everyones problem with it.
Ohh. I didnt go to E3 that year, so I didnt watch the trailer or premiere of Watch_Dogs. I found the game to be amazing with the skill tree, parkour, and character buildup and story. I like the game for what it is, but I understand how hard it is to be lied to about a major game *cough cough* Star Fox 2 *cough cough*.
Ace Starstream Character Buildup and Story'? errr ok but if u liked it, you liked it. It does help if u didn't see the promises it made you wouldn't be disappointed, but for others, the trailer, the bugs and really a kinda weak open world didn't click well.
I like to think that Joel is making this man say all of these things and the poor guy is trying his best to explain all of it and awkwardly smiles hoping they buy it
BemaniAK I think Joel may have some sort of conservative hangup regarding sexuality, he has himself stated that that he considers himself conservative when it comes to sex and such, or maybe i'm prejudiced against him on account of his religious upbringing.
41:40 I guess this game takes place in the Deus Ex universe now. also i just now realized that the paper is called "The New Amsterdam Times". i know they're trying to avoid copyrights or whatever, but that's just fucking ridiculous.
I'm not sure I've got much of a firm grasp on Fuck Freedom Cheeseburger Man's political positions. Or this game's, for that matter. Like, bit controversial to say that legalizing prostitution is an explicitly anti-feminist position. And that it's somehow good for homeland security.
ColeYote I think it's pretty accurate, legalizing prostitution does damage organized crime and most feminists these days seem to be opposed to it. Personally I think legalizing it is a no brainier, excluding the "muh family values" or "muh patriarchy" arguments.
ColeYote Apparently prostitution's also bad for morals and human rights... Yeah, I think this game is biased. Then again, a lot of special interest groups are contrarian assholes, so maybe it is accurate. Or maybe it's a satirical approach to get us to think about this stuff?
ColeYote Pretty much all of the people I'm friends with (almost all feminists) consider sex work to be a profession that deserves more merit because the people in it are both in control of their own bodies and making money off of that (assuming of course that they're doing sex work of their own volition). I don't even see how taking such an empowering job and bring it out from under the table, as well as the regulations that no doubt would come from its legalization, would be anti-feminist. Hell, I'm pretty sure there'd be marching in the streets because not only would that be a massive leap for sex workers' visibility as people (as well as probably the rights that would come from that) but even vehement anti-feminists would probably rejoice because they can get government-supported no-strings-attached sex. It's the great equalizer
emporbooty Yeah, funnily enough the feminists I've actually met in person have the same values regarding prostitution. Only place I've seen feminists shaming prostitution is on the internet or *some* "feminist" celebrities. I believe they're what you'd call "sex-negative feminists". And a lot of vehement anti-feminists are religious zealots who take snippets from the Bible to use as long as it's convenient to them. To them, prostitution is sin, even if they themselves use the services of a prostitute. Very big hypocrites, they are. It's as if logic just doesn't register for them, because you're right; they could have safe, legal sex for probably a lot cheaper (since legality would spur a bunch of corporations to pop up, which would result in these companies offering competitive prices), so there literally is nothing bad about it from a logical standpoint. Either way, we can all agree that the values of special interest groups or the things that it helps are over-simplified, if not just flat out stupid and nonsensical.
As I finished the stream, I clicked on another one, laughing hysterically at what I had witnessed moments earlier. As expected, an ad came up. It was a man with a bong, surrounded by hookers. Yellow comic sans text painted the screen, lighting my dark room. "PRESIDENT SMOKES WEED LOL".
What the fuck, he unwittingly picks the racist candidate, changes his name to Hitler, and then puts Hulk Hogan as the poster a couple weeks before the scandal. WHAT
45:47 The McDonalds candidate is so prestigious and close to his people that his even his name goes outside the bounds of the TV to reach the fellow citizenship.
Marijuana is no more hazardous or dangerous than alcohol, if legalized. The federal government could save as much as $13 billion a year if it were to legalize marijuana. $6 billion alone would come from taxing marijuana like we do with alcohol. It's a much better solution.
Serious time: I support legalized prostituation simple because I believe that everyone has the right to do their business, as long as everyone is there of their own free will. Besides, it is a business that has existed since ancient ages, and you'd be wrong to think no one does it because they want to.
Luxai A lot of women don't want it to be legal because they think it's oppressing them because they seem to forget men can be prostitutes as well. That being said, I'm a woman and I agree.
Luxai i'm not very educated on the issue but i think legalizing it might make the practise more regulated and make it safer for the women who participate.
***** Uh, no, don't be stupid. Prostituation has existed as long as money and sex have, maybe even longer, WAY before anyone made it illegal. Rape, or forced copulation, happens anyways, and have since sex happened. As far as we know, the caveman way of having sex was pretty much rape by todays standards: clobber the "victim" on the head and take him/her in a cave. legalizing prostitution would drive up the number of women who wants to do it as their job and strip organized crime of a huge source of income. If anything, it would make the world safer for women. Some people tend to moralize to the point of insanity over the whole thing, but the truth is that sex is a base desire and some men and women simply choose to make it their profession. Nobody should stop them from that sort of career choice. It might also have the positive side effect of helping equality: women can choose their career paths as freely as men can.
***** Stop being stupid. Legalized prostitution harms absolutely nobody, because LEGALIZED means that prostitution as a business abides by the law. Harm or death or denial of freedom to a person is against the law, and rightly so. A person willingly selling sex to another person harms absoluetly nobody.
Every face in those talking head things looks like they're trying their damnedest to hold back laughter. Well, except for whowasit Jack Orama? He just looks like someone slammed their car in his parking space after spitting in his coffee. Or an elitist, take your pick.
Nameless I am not a nazi. I don't support Adolf Hitler, and if I do, it's for ironic's sake. Grammar is very important in life. Say you're getting a job at your favorite company. If your resume is like this: "i am a person who whants a job pls give it 2 me," they won't hire you. However, if you used proper grammar and some common sense(more like rare sense considering that people today are stupid), you might get the job! I know that you're lazy and you see proper grammar as extra work, but I'm lazy, too. And I use proper grammar all the time, and I can type as fast as anyone who doesn't care about grammar. You probably see me as some douchebag who wants everyone to do what I say, but I'm not. I'm just some lunatic who wants everyone to do what I say, because what I say will(hopefully) help humans from getting any dumber. Like this paragraph that I made and you will probably not read because you're so fucking lazy. But if you read this, I hope I changed your view on grammar for the better. Although, this IS the Internet, and you can't change anyone's view on anything, so this was a huge waste of time. Good. I hate life and I want it to be over as soon as possible.
Nameless I know it's not an essay, but at least have some self-respect for how you type! One of the ways I judge how a person is is how they type. The worse their grammar and spelling, the more I hate them. I don't know why I do this, I guess it's one of the many human instincts telling me to be horrible to others. Humans are either stupid, greedy, or both.
Why are both "Women" and "Abortion Issues" on the list of policies? Abortion being illegal is literally the only thing in our country's law that ACTUALLY oppresses women.
Mirokyu There's also contraception distribution, wage gap, and a lack of accountability for sexual assault cases, though the first two are only common "issues."
wtfthisbanana Woah, are you serious? You're saying women aren't believed when they say they were raped? Then how come the mere ACCUSATION of rape will literally ruin your entire college career?
Yo, I wasn't really planning on getting into this kind of discussion here, nor will I. I'm just saying that, bullshit or not, they're still problems that are discussed at length. Not just abortion.
I also love how legalizing prostitution in the game is supposedly anti women and anti human rights. I mean legalizing it is problematic for other reasons aka why it’d be better to decriminalize it instead, but As if criminalizing women‘s use of their own bodies in ways they want to use it in is not more sexist and also infringing on human rights. Like, as someone who‘s really pro sex work, this just seems so funny to me how biased and dumb that game really is. Like, as if women‘s bodies are somehow the big no no when it comes to selling your body, time and effort for literally any other form of work isn‘t the same somehow. The ppl who criminalize sex work aren‘t pro women or pro human rights. They just wanna control women‘s bodies and let them know that their bodies are in the hands of the government instead of themselves wich is fundamentally sexist.
Oh sweet, another sex addicted idiot (but doesn’t engage in it, because he desperately needs to find a way to pay women to notice him) who has never researched the long term effects of sex work in society. Believe it or not, it’s really not that great of a feeling to be used as a sex object for work, not even mentioning how it’s not a life long career, and you’re ruining your life in the long term. But yeah, casually ignore all the women who have been there and seen the WHOLE ENTIRE CYCLE of sex work, and how destructive it is. These women are literally manipulated and gaslighted into a life style that never truly is what they’re shown. *Go outside and get the touch of a woman who loves you- and yes, that may mean putting down the porn and getting a relationship.*
