5:54 Next to the Makoto demon, this is easily my favorite corruption out of them all. The lone duck floating in the water, the "help me" the flesh splatter noise, the sudden sinking of the kayak, and the dread of floating in the water, with god knowing what happens to you next.
@@qsykiThe duck is just floating in the water, but it's portrayed as some sort of monster. It's the only other thing out there with you that shows some hint of being alive. But it's intentions are unclear, it could be your cause of death. And Vinny going "something horrible is about to happen" doesn't help.

JC The Hyena wishes he was that creative. The "Sonic Has Passed" corruption would be genuinely unsettling IRL. "Sonic has bloody eyes and is possessed by a demon and kills everyone!" Just isn't creepy or scary, it's stupid.
@@ScumSookar Clearly a lot of the people who wrote those old "My video game is possessed!" creepypastas were children, but I think the funniest trope was the "hyper-realistic blood" one. I know the horror aspect is supposed to be that it's impossible, but I can't really visualize what a pixelated sprite pissing actual blood from its eyes would look like. The best one of any of these is the Godzilla story, by far, but even that one drops the ball really hard at the end.

Vinny is being hunted by some sort of game demon but his plot armor just allows him to laugh it off and not be brutally ripped apart and shoved into the game like most creepypasta characters
The football corruptions where it sounded like distorted clips of someone genuinely just screaming in rage was for some reason really hilarious the second time I watched it
Pretty sure it was an actual scream of one of John Madden’s victims. They are in the files but are never meant to be seen. The corruption of the files made it play randomly
5:54 The ambience of this one kinda sounds like the middle of a naval battle, and you are rowing through some sort of other realm through it, hearing all the "help me" and all that. The sudden loss of buoyancy of the boat is pretty damning as well.

the way i felt an immediate sense of dread at 3:15 is immaculate. The audio of distorted screams/cheering getting louder, the text slowly jumbling and corrupting into the phrase RUN. its so expertly crafted and its amazing that it wasnt staged.
It's inputted but it just shows how further corruptions have evolved, could probably create legitimate Creepypastas and further nightmare fuel with these.
@@gordonfreeman5872 I think if it still jumbles the text, but only occassionally spell the word RUN the section would have been a masterpiece. Like, a split second it says RUN, but immediately jumbles into random text again, then repeat once every few seconds.

The Wii sports resort one has so much that's so unsettling about it. The "help me" and "save me" and just the ocean of nothingness, no land in sight, and then The kayak sinking. Has potential.
I don't think it's actually a corruption- corruption stockpiles are submitted by other people, so this was likely edited for the "RUN." text *But...* that doesn't mean it wasn't scary. Before the RUN text, the way the text was getting changed made me genuinely feel like it was part of corruption, and when I saw it a huge chill went down my spine.
@@omnipresence5303 it is a corruption, but Vinny has said that sometimes the makers of the corruptions manually edit or mod them after corrupting them to make them either funnier or creepier.
@@DolusVulpes You're sorta right. If you delete some files, you can achieve the same result. So the code must've been corrupted in some sort of way to trigger this unintentionally.

The corruption looks too good to be a corruption. Here's my guess on how to typify each one: there's randomising code for unintended results (WiiSports Raft), tweaking sections of code to get intended results (Star Fox's "Who brought the NFT"), and then there's outright reprogramming, which doesn't happen very often, but when it does you know.
I hope this year we have a creepy corruptions only Corruptions Stockpile for Halloween, or a contest like Simpleflips Creepy Romhacks would be cool too

The only one that I found disturbing and well done was the Ben Drowned one. It doesn't have any corny jumpscares or text, it's just has a really interesting atmosphere and there's a lot of room for interpretation. The creepypasta itself is pretty mediocre, but the footage made around it is pretty good.
6:30 story: a man gets lost at sea, only surviving on fish and lakewater, although this only worsens his mind, after a few days, he begins hearing loud sounds and the world around him seems... corrupted, until eventually his boat sinks and he drowns. The "help me"s and "save me"s are recordings of his calls for help taken from his video diary.
Fun fact! That scream at 5:04 isn't a corruption, it was just a recording of "John Madden's" latest victim left in the game files by accident! It's normally not accessible through standard gameplay though.
I always loved those murder scream easter eggs in the Madden games, but I have always thought it was a bit disrespectful to John Madden's victims for the games to glorify their deaths like that. Oh well, still epic.
