@@whiteydiamond The 3DS is like 12 years old and hasnt had a big release since 2019 (which is pushing it). It’s height was about 2014. I think we can call it nostalgic.
Thank you again for playing my pack! The 3ds is hands down my favorite game console, and I have so many fond memories playing its massive library, especially street pass games. Fun fact about Brilliant Hamsters: it has 3? AR games mini games and its own street pass function like Nintendogs' bark mode. Also, I somehow have 3hrs in it. The grind doesn't get any better.
Thank you for sending this pack in! Including harmoknight and horseshoe crab game made me happy. I was literally debating making a 3ds pack last week, so this stream was serendipitous haha.
YES HORSESHOE CRAB RESCUE IS ON HERE! I just bought it because I like horseshoe crabs but it’s actually pretty fun to speedrun, even if the spawn points can get kinda jank. It’s clear one dude made it in about two or so days, just because they could, and I love that vibe. Although it erroneously claims that crabs are not arthropods, so unfortunately it does not beat Electroplankton on my EShop tier list
Damn, hitting a straight home-run with the nostalgia right off the bat. _Puns intended._ Shitty Miis is like one of few videos where I was introduced to Vinesauce. Also 3DS Mii Maker music is very nostalgic in general. 🥲
The 3DS was probably the most dynamic era for Nintendo since I feel things evolved pretty noticeably for the system in terms of library and various apps that came and went
"Man, Rusty's Real Deal Baseball is just like Vampire Survivors, except for that it's in 3D, and developed by nintendo, and instead of automatically attacking waves of enemies, it's a game where you interact with the owner of a sporting goods store." Vine "The Sauce" Sauce 2023
I beat it not too long ago and it still holds up really well. I recommend getting it before the eShop closes if you’re interested in a cute rhythm game.
They get a surprising amount of mileage out of a collection of baseball-themed minigames. Besides batting practice they had fielding and even UMPIRING! And probably other weird stuff I'm forgetting.
@@edwardsaldana2534 X and Y did kinda start it though. They were still fun but you could tell that they didn't hold a candle to the previous Gen. Didn't help that they skipped straight to Gen 7 before we even got a Z.
@@edwardsaldana2534 SwSh isn't broken its just boring and lacking in content. SV is the broken mess but still leagues better than SwSh when it comes to content. I enjoyed the 3DS games but then I look back at how we were robbed of stuff like a remade battle frontier just because Masuda thought kids wouldn't be interested enough. Now the content gets even more cut and we cant even have all our mons anymore.
Harmoknight is an underrated gem within the 3DS colletion and by GameFreak, really liked the music in it. Especially the City level with that one Jazz track.
Horseshoe Crab Rescue's notable for being a very late release for the 3DS eShop, came out in late 2021, for perspective I think Automaton Lung was the very last 3DS game ever released which dropped in Summer 2022, and that's likely why it wouldn't emulate very well.
Has Vinny ever tried a Professor Layton game? Not the 3DS ones but a couple that were on the DS, unless he's not much into that puzzle solving game which will rot his brain probably.
I hope someone sends vinny the OG Senran Kagura games for this segment. I would LOVE to see his reaction to those if he thinks things like Gal*Gun are "a bit too much".
@@BigBoy257 It would be funny for him to see where the devs behind Onechannbra and the other booba simple series games ended up. Whether he sees where Tamsoft is now as "redemption" is a matter of perspective, but at least the games play well. lol.
@@cherrycheetos Because that's a core tenant of sunday streams: vinny being uncomfortable. Also, the first 2 games in the series are 3DS exclusives so it's not like there's no precedent. And they are MOST ASSUREDLY weird.
This segment wasn't very good. Half of these games could have been left out and Vinny barely spent any time with the good ones. He quit Harmoknight before he even made it to the first level!
Vinny forgot about one of his most famous memes, Rusty Kuntz (real baseball player btw), who according to the pizzapasta man himself is his favourite one in the field.
I liked how they turned them into a gameplay mechanic. And yeah the game did everything in its power to get you to haggle down to the lowest possible price, even though it's technically possible to pay more.
@@PFBM86 gamifying microtransactions is something i really do not want to see catch on. the last thing i want to think about while playing the game is how much it costs/will cost. gachas are bad enough.
@@felicityc This is nothing like gachas though, there's no random chance involved, all of the prices are pre-determined and part of the game is figuring out the steps needed to minimize them. If this doesn't sound appealing to you then play something else.
Oh I remember playing Kami on my phone when idle during work. It was pretty addictive actually, at least until the later stages where it gets insanely complex and I feel my brain is folding Kinda like Baba is you
Good reminder that I have a couple things I want to get before the eshop closes. Kami looks awesome, that's probably the very last game I'll buy for 3DS
6:44 "it really was ahead of it's time, it was the Vampire Survivors of it's day" No Vinny, it's a cat-themed ripoff of the Dynasty Warriors GBA game lol
his style is timeless, sometimes I click a Vinny video thinking it's recent and it's actually from 10 years ago. the only tell is the mic being slightly worse before lol
I prefer the audio levels here. However, it's ironic his game volume is turned down in some videos that have the most amazing soundtracks, but nice and audible here
I mostly remember the Rusty's Real Deal Baseball mostly because of video about one of the least known characters of all time *"Pappy van Poodle"* (before that video the character had literally zero search results)
i really liked hamtaro when i was a kid so i asked my mom to get a hamster. and we got a hamster. he was a little piece of shit. he would bite me and bite his cage all night. he was trying to escape. one night, after weeks of slowly chewing and bending at his bars, he managed to squeeze out. that night my cat was in the room sleeping on my bed with me and i woke up to a hamster head on my floor. i was really sad at first but then i sort of realized my cat was the one that loved me not that bitchass hamster. my cat would be around for another 10 years after that and was a sweetheart to the end. the moral of the story is sometimes its better to stay inside the cage and you shouldn't leave at the first opportunity. my grandparents had some guinea pigs for a bit and they were a lot nicer. except one day i went to their house and they weren't there anymore. D:
Fun fact Carps and Dragons is just called Fish em all on the wii shop channel. Seems like its just a bad 3ds port with a changed name. Probably too make it seem more exciting or like a different game.
38:45 That's weird, my OG gray DS's original battery still works just fine. The only thing wrong with it is that the speakers glitch out a little every now and then. One time I thought the battery died, but it was just the crappy 3rd party recharger that died, so I ended up ordering 2 third party batteries... which may just decay before the original battery does, because Nintendo's older batteries were just that reliable. I lost my OG SP/DS recharger for whatever reason, so I had to get another one, and of course despite being ancient, it still works just fine, meanwhile the 3rd party one died in under like 2 years (also the 3rd party recharger was very LOUD, audible hum). I also remember playing the demo to Rusty's Baseball for whatever reason, must have been extra bored.
Third party ones tend to be bad but sometimes lithium batteries can be rng. They tend to start dying in bunches. The main thing is to remove the battery if it's going to be stored for a long time or even if it's just going to be put in a cupboard for some years. Whether it works or not is irrelevant because as soon as it does have problems it will be a concern. The DS battery is also smaller and less powerful than the other problem battery (the PSP, which went bad en masse it seems, mine did too). Luckily when I was organizing I looked at my stored PSP and noticed it and was able to save it before it damaged the device itself. It was very sudden.
As someone who's played Harmoknight, it ain't that great. It tries to blend in both platform and rhythm gameplay and it doesn't work well when the platforming aspects punish you hard for messing up, which includes sequences that are instant death if you fail them (e.g. falling into a pit or certain sequences during boss fights), causing you to restart the entire level. Also sometimes the timing for both the platforming parts and the rhythm don't even match up perfectly, so you if you try to time jumping over an obstacle based off the rhythm, there's a chance it'll count as you messing up because the character was off by a few pixels. Though the saddest part is that modern pokemon has as much budget as these smaller/experimental games nowadays lmao.
Oh man, seeing this pack reminded me of a game my mom gave me for my 3ds. I don’t recall the name of it, but it was a super funky racing game with a lot of references to older games like Pac-Man and maybe F-Zero? Man, I wasted so much time playing it, I never understood the goals and just raced EDIT: Ridge Racer 3D. Just searched up 3DS Pacman racing and found out the name, Ridge Racer 3D
I'm not so sure this was the most ideal way to actually experience these games, he skips how-tos, dialog, and rushes way too much to actually get into any groove all to ironically see and experience as many of them as possible. Does anyone know where he played Rustys first? I'd much rather see him taking his time to actually go through it for example, cause the meat of it is talking to Rusty.
I've been viewing Vinny for ages now since his Mario 64 Mods Collection and can't believe how HANDSOME he looks at 2:30 compared to his Mii as he looks so darn youthful for being 34! O.o Unless I'm mistaken when I Googled his age, I don't know why he doesn't show his face often as he's kinda giving me Penguinz0 (Charlie) vibes but the New Yorker version and just adore his mustache & beard! ^-^ Just had to put it out there since I prefer men younger than me (I'm 28) but men that look like Vinny sure make me think otherwise for men a little older than me lol. xD *PS EDIT:* I just Googled his age and there's NO WAY he's 37! HE LOOKS LIKE HE'S 20!! .__0
It was included in one of the 3DS packs, but booti skipped it because it was well known and "too good/not weird enough for this". Which I guess is a really big complement, even if it means it got omitted.
