UAE has to stop setting the pace when we hit the real mountains. Let Visma set the pace and burn their matches. Make the race as easy as possible. This means JV will have to attack himself on the climbs, to take time. Pogi should stop attacking, he should focus on defending and maybe counter attacking . just my 5cents
bro I swear you guys think setting pace is some magical thing that makes a difference, it doesnt, the draft is minimal and you dont get more draft than your competition to begin with 🤦🏼. No one in the history of the tdf probably has ever gained any relevant amount of seconds bc of pace setting and drafting, but rather riding the highest consistent w/kg and doing well in tt's and no your w/kg on any given climb is not influenced by your team setting some pace, and if the competition sits on your wheel you probably get a minimal amount more of draft on shallower climbs ...
In my opinion that was the Plan since the start of the Tour for the real montain. The problem Is that the plan was pogi ahead of Jonas by 2 minutes at this point of the Tour and then you can "relax". But with Jonas in this form you can Dream for 2 minutes, 1'14" Is already a lot considering his form. Now the question Is if Jonas had this form for all 3 week
No need to completely disrespect G.Thomas, Martinez and other Giro contenders. The podcast is good but this attitude is not it. You have no ideia how talented you need to be and how hard you need to work to reach these guys level. These are 99,99% percentile individuals. Jonas and Tadej are just freaks
they are using a standard weight of 60 kilos. They're reporting the watts per kilogram a 60 kilo rider would need to do to go that speed at that gradient.
I have a question. Last year Pogi also did incredible performances before 3rd week were he couldn’t hold it. Maybe Jonas might have the same problems. Probably Pogi had a Calories + over expenditure today
At least they tried to win Tour de France early. Similar to Tourmalet/Cauterets stage last year when Visma tried to finish Pogačar but it backfired but if it worked then you practically won the race
Pogaçar lost time on a descent? for Vingard, whom he beat up in Galibier 3 days ago? And he didn't hit him in the final sprint? And he only lost 1 second in qualifying? Hmm, I think he wanted to dispel the idea that he only wins because the Dane is recovering. If Vinegard won today there are no excuses, right? Despite everything, a very entertaining stage...
