It's funny to watch here how they still think that Thorkell values bonds with former comrades like Thors and won't end up killing Thorfinn. Thorkell is not that kind of guy. He even switched sides and abandoned former comrades from the Jomvikings. He is just in pursuit of satisfying his lust for fighting a good fight. His concern about Thorfinn is just Thorfinn's concern for Askeladd - all for a warrior's duel.
yeah I don't get how people think that Thorkell has some kind of "code"... dude just want to tear everyone apart for his own fun and bloodlust. He doesn't care that Thorfinn is related to Thors for affection value but because he is strong
@@LuisSierra42 Yeah, there was so much inspiration from Shingeki 2x1 in this episode.. Thorkell kneeling down to Askeladd is the same shot they did when the Beast Titan was kneeling down to Miche.
I love all of the little details in the show. My favourite in this episode is just knowing that Askeladd could easily kill all of them in melee combat, but he chooses to play coy and 'old' and useless, because he knows once he scares them they'll immediately back off and bring out the bows which he knows he cannot counter. Nothing he does is ever just for the sake of it, he is constantly two tongued.
Vinland saga season one is goated , in terms of everything, storyline, characters development and personality and the perfect way they present everything
@@darkstar8196 I love season 2 for the same obvious reasons, while it is a matter of preference I think season 1 was quite near perfect and while some may prefer s2, there is almost no one that can possibly dislike s1. It might not be as development driven but for what it is, it is quite literally perfect.
@@tahataimur1859 Is it though because nobody gets the message that Yukimura wants to transmit rarely reaches the younger audience so aybe it is not good for what it is. Now don't get me wrong the season is perfect in term of story action and quite good in characters but with regards to what it is (specifically its intended purpose) its not perfect in any way
I think it does not matter how people may perceive the storyline and themes that yukimura tried to get across. By that logic if we present some far fetched abstract artistic masterpiece or perhaps and esoteric yet beautiful song to the unappreciative and we'll relatively dumb masses, ofc many of them will not get the message. But does that take away anything from the art itself? Same here for S1. It does not have to be CLEAR and cut out exactly what yuki was trying to portray, he does not guide us through it but let's us figure it out for ourselves. That is the sign of a good story, one that respects its readers as well. So just because the message might not have been clear to a lot of people until s2 came and spelled it out for them, I don't think it takes away anything from s1 itself.
The thin is that thorfinn is more skillful than askeladd but he can’t win against him because every time thorfinn and askeladd fight askeladd make thorfinn lost his mind
@@loni1771 you seem to think in anime terms and not real life even though you talk about realism... Also you should understand what a plot is, let me explain. The mangaka writes the story however he wants, if he wanted askeladd to die we could've done so, it's easy to say that it was plot armor and you see it as something negative, but plot armor is literally everywhere in every show, the show has a plot and the mangaka follows it. It's that simple.
