I still LOVE this album...the vox at the end of the song is INSANE! The backing-vox throughout are brilliant...I guess these guys would have to track the backing-vox at a live show. Couldn't blame them. ALL "Invasion" guitar-work is really tasteful. Vinnie could burn up & down the fretboard all day but he knows to play what the song calls for.
One of the best hardrock songs ever. Reminds me of long hot summernights and the midnightsun. Now it's just a memory, but the music lives on forever. As long music like this is not forgotten there is hope.
One of my all time favorite songs. Not just rock songs. I think everything about it is perfect. It always gets cranked when it comes on. Just a great song, to me.
I cried when I heard this song 20 years ago and I knew that Monica, my baby, was moving to a different town, I hope you are ok now, and I hope you have found real and true love, I still love you, bye
I love this video. It's good as "Love Kills" and both "Love Kills" and this video are awesome. Great melodies, great singer. Vinnie Vincent Invasion rocks :D
Holy crap I LOVE this!! Slaughter was my favorite band for a couple years when I was about 12, and I still love this stuff. I had no idea that Mark was in another band before that!! WOW!
What a great lineup, a great band and great tunes that came from this band. I shutter to think what these four guys could of did had they staryed together. Mark's vocals were awesome, Vinnie is greatness and so is Dana. Bobby rock was also pretty cool too. The Invasion was awesome!
somebody needs to start a petition to have vinnie vincent get back in the studio and record more music. VVI is way over due for a new album. Bring Back Vinnie!!!!
I would never betray VV im sure there are people he could trust. I know hes been through many hard times in life but music needs Vinnie Vincent just like i need oxygen....Vinnie come back!! PLEASE!
Vinnie may have been hard to work with but he was such a frickin great guitar player that he could do no wrong for me - come on Vinnie time to come back.
Well, I can can tell you with 100% certainty that the guitar Vinnie's playing in this video is a custom made Carvin twinfin. He later changed the pickups to Seymour Duncan's and he also has an original "Non-FineTuner" Floyd Rose on it. I work at Carvin so I know!
You're right man! I have thought for years this tune was by Slaughter. If you just listen to it without watching the video it's like listening to SLAUGHTER.
geesh!....and all this time I thought that Vinnie's music (and Kiss's) transcended all this political clap-trap. Have a great christmas people...and farking rock-on!
Thanks for the reply. Yeah you're right I don't know much about Vinne's stuff or any of the aforementioned (hair) metal. It all sounded the same then as now. Yes, Zeppelin are great aren't they. I was a BIG Kiss fan too which is why I looked up VV. It seemed like he was a victim of his own AND Gene's arrogance. I'll check out Ashes To Ashes (I assume it's not the Bowie song). All the best - PS. I'll post any comment where and when I want to thanks.
Aye - thats very true...which is deeply ironic since he's unquestionably a superb musician and the best guitar player Kiss ever had (especially when he took the time to slow down now and then...)
I remember reading in all the metal mags about this new kid that Vinnie was going to unleash on the world as the singer on his next album (this one), who supposedly was unlike anything we had heard up to that point in metal. Well, they weren't lying. Slaughter definitely could sing, and had a unique voice.
* RE: Beginning of new song at the end of the video - Thank You very much for replying : ) Judas Priest's ' Heading Out To The Highway ' has almost the same INTRO as D.A.D.'s ' Sleeping My Day Away ' ! watch?v=ASfVIFUw20Y Thanks again : ) _
not saying it not a wig or hair extensions but back in the 80's i was in local bands and from experience you can make you hair look ten times thicker with a body wave,a perm and a ton of aqua net.
Saw them in concert with Alice Cooper somewhere back around "87-88. Fantastic band, I hate they didn"t stick around longer. They even came up the ramp at old Charlotte coliseum signed autos.
@Zosogun This was there only project together. the band "Slaughter" was pretty much this whole band minus Vinnie Vincent. All the other guys got sick of Vinnie's constant need for overblown guitar solos everywhere. Both bands were great in there own rights. Invasion was harder edged for the most part.
* FANTASTIC !!! What a great VOCAL ending from 4:10 on ! Does anyone recognize that 1 second clip at the end of the next song starting ? I think it sounds like SLEEPING MY DAY AWAY by D.A.D. !
VVI became VVI (featuring Mark Slaughter). Mark and Dana continued to form Slaughter and Bobby Rock went on to play with Nelson. Dana plays bass in Vince Neils solo band. Vinnie Vincent - AWOL....Where are you Vinnie?
