I may not be interested in actually playing Monkey Ball myself, but I do appreciate that they've made the tilting motions significantly less vomit-inducing over the years because it makes it a lot easier to watch other people play it

With LoTR, to be fair (and honest), a lot of the stuff that happens in the books can basically be chalked up to as "anime bullshit", and you count on one or two hands the amount of characters who can't do such things, namely the halfings (and merry and pippintook get into so much BS that frankly I loath not to really count it). Honestly, Legolas being turned into an anime pretty boy is like... the least surprising thing of the anime movie.

I love how Rolled Out! came about because the creator was tired of there being no good monkeyball games since the GameCube era, but against all odds we managed to get a **brand new and genuinely good monkeyball game** in the years it's been in early access. I loved Rolled Out! but the development has been slow, tedious, and disappointing. The dev needs to bring on more developers if they want their project to be finished.

I'm a game dev, so sometimes complaints from "gamers" about optimization really bother me - specifically when a game runs at sub-60 FPS, but doesn't have a mechanical or visual need for that framerate (eg: Paper Mario) or is justifiably mechanically or visually impressive at the cost of a lower framerate - but this is a case of a game which really doesn't have enough going on to justify its performance *and* needs that higher responsiveness for its mechanics. It's so strange, too, because if you told me this was an early Wii U title (or late Wii title running in Dolphin for higher resolution) I'd totally believe you. It definitely looks good, but not so good I'd say "obviously a modern (eg: newer than the Wii, PS3, X360) console will struggle with this."

Yeah agreed. A game like this most definitely could run at 60 if the devs were capable. Devs just dropped the ball here. Metroid Prime Remastered is far more visually impressive and runs at 60.

@@Bluntbows "Devs just dropped the ball" is incredibly ill informed. No one releases a bad product because they want to, they do it because they were forced to. If there was infinite money and infinite time, there'd be no reason to say "we can't optimize any further" and it would have *eventually* released in a much better state. Look at the number of features the game *does* have that also took time and money to make (and make work *well*). That's all time and money that *didn't* go into optimization.

I’m still waiting on my copy of this game as I chose to Pay In 3 via PayPal for my Play Asia order of the Legendary Banana Edition (I live in the UK and could find no options for getting the Legendary Banana Edition over here) and I’d like to please know: does the clothing store add more items as you progress? Would be nice to know if there are any nicer looking backpacks I can get for my character, and if there are and school shoes I can get alongside the school uniform! Thanks

Worth noting, none of the stutters in the single player mode are related to it running on Switch, as far as I can tell its due to how Unity handles pacing by default. In other words, its a setting with how the game is handling physics updates, even on a 4080 itd have that problem.Why youd choose Unity for a performance-oriented game and not account for that, I don't know. Multiplayer on the other hand I have no idea why its like that. It looks to me like its just 30fps and the same resolution but with anti aliasing turned off. Hence it looking sharper. I imagine they are trying to scrape back how ever many miliseconds their anti aliasing routine is adding to each frame?

So far this looks pretty fun actually, still a shame the controls aren't quite to where they were in 1/2, but all the camera control seems nice and the level design seems pretty decent as well.
