I love the classic elegance of this 1940's inspired updo. It's nice and secure too so would be great for nights of dancing.

Hair isn't the most important thing in the world but, sometimes knowing you have a super cool 'do' can make you smile and that can only be a good thing right?
Welcome to Vintagious, here, in my own litttle corner of RU-vid I will show you how to create beautiful hairstyles from all eras. Sure, my main focus is on simple vintage hairstyling but I also love easy modern styles.
I don't have a favourite era, it changes all the time. One day it'll be Edwardian hairstyles that I'm all over, the next, pinup girl hair, the next I'll be all about Greek Goddesses and their crazy Barnets! I just love it all!
I do hope that you enjoy my videos and that you can learn something from them, even just a tiny bit - and even if you learn nothing I hope that they make you smile.

I apologize for the length of this comment, I just wanted to tell you something awesome that happened to me because of your awesome videos! First, I wanted to thank you for your videos; you're instructions are always clear and fun to follow along with. You inspired me to try doing Victory Rolls, which I did over the weekend for the first time (mine weren't perfect, but I didn't think were too bad for a first try!). My mom and I then went to one of our local antique stores for some shopping. While there, two ladies came up to me and started asking me about my hair, and the one said that her mom (the second lady) used to do her hair that way. They then went on to explain that the mother (who was 93) was a REAL "Rosie the Riveter" back in the 40's! She and a friend had hopped a train when they were 16 years old, and rode it up to Michigan (from Kentucky!) to work in the factories during the war. It was such a cool experience, and it never would've happened if I hadn't watched your videos! Thank you so much!

Oh my gosh!!! That’s amazing. So amazing! I’m sure I saw her on the news the other day for some reason. Wow, what a story! Thank you so much for sharing. Rosie’s seal of approval- that really is something to shout about! ❤️❤️

I grew up with the picture of my grandmother and I remember seeing how put together she was, how elegant she looked and the few pictures I had of my great-grandmother, they always looked so polished and poised, even during times of war and I was so proud that they still put their best foot forward and carried on, even when they were falling apart on the inside becaue that's a part of how women were called upon to help, to act as though all was well, esp for their children, and as someone that could never be called poised or polished I just adored the aesthetic so love hair looks from about the '20s to50sish, with tiny bit of 60s at a press. also seems to suit my face shape!

You look beautiful! Your tutorials are done well in a way that makes them easy to follow. I started copying vintage hair when I was 10 years old (30 years ago!). I became obsessed with classic film at that age, so I began copying hair that I saw on film. I was always playing around with combining vintage hair with modern hair. I still do that to this day :)
@FitfullyVintage
@FitfullyVintage 4 года назад
Were the same age! I always had a fascination with the glamour and look of the vintage girls but never really thought it was something I could emulate only until about 12 years ago. You must be a master! ❤️

Thank you. I’m sitting in a bay window so I think the light helps a lot. For a year and a bit now I’ve not used SLS or silicones on my hair. I didn’t check where you are in the world but if you are in the UK Holland and Barrett do a great range called Faith in Nature, I use those.

Bangs?!? You are English! Surely it is called a fringe? Or are you not talking to those of us in the UK?
@FitfullyVintage
@FitfullyVintage 4 года назад
Without watching back I can’t remember where I said ‘bangs’ ‘Bardot bangs’ maybe? Do I not say both? ‘fringe’ is my go-to word but globally I think the influence of US media may make ‘Bangs’ more universally understandable. My goal is to have videos that are easily understood. 💕
@JP-ks3py
@JP-ks3py 4 года назад
@@FitfullyVintage I _was_ being a bit tongue-in-cheek, but I think you said fringe once or twice and bangs about 50 times!!! I _am_ a wee bit sensitive to tons of Americanisms appearing in our language. I've said that once or maybe two times before(!) Anyway, can't stay here and talk, I have to take the trash out I guess... :)

Haha! It’s a shame isn’t it? There’s nothing I can do to change anything either because they never leave a comment as to why they dislike it so it’s actually pointless. Never mind!
