I've got this hoover original from new (hes my mums), looking to replace the motor as he has been run with no filter, no service, dogs and cats hair and now renovating my house so a lot of brick dust and debris! Thanks for the video showing how to change the inlet out for one that holds a bag, that has had me puzzled for a long time as I've wanted to get bags for him for ages! He's off to the bath for a full scrub before I put him back together (after I find a new motor) Current motor is working never had a problem with it until very recently has a slight issue with the top bearing seems to skip a beat! Also the amount of dog or cat fur inside the machine is now starting to smell like burning so I think it's gotten into the motor now I am thinking if I replace it now I could get my lifetime out of him 😊 Wonderful machines and to have lasted so long before crying out for some attention is admirable 🥰
Honestly it takes me a good 3-4hours to refurb one. I get the tops shiney by machine polishing them was good car polish. Then i coat it with dodo juice wax
