Thanks for the compliment. I’ve had this truck for 8 years. It takes time and money (mostly money) to get it this way. I still have a ways to go. That’s awesome your son is into classic trucks. I hope mine gets into it.

This so far is a slick looking install. The satin black for the fans and the grey you chose for the motor is such a good look. Im sick to death of chevy orange and chrome. I have the same truck but with an inline 250, and I might go with your radiator and fan because it looks great and my old brass one is having trouble lately
@Chickeneyegarage

Thanks. I think the radiator looks great black along with the fan shroud. I agree that chrome gets boring after awhile but I still like Chevy orange. Just to let you know, summit racing makes a 3 row brass radiator. I almost went with it but I figured aluminum dissipate the heat better than brass.

When you were putting the lines in and having trouble that’s when I would lose my shit and have a meltdown 😅

🤣 Trust me I had to edit through some words I didn’t want on the video. It was tricky to do but it still beats taking the grill off which I didn’t want to do.

That AC is gonna be nice this summer! I have a 66 I started building about a month ago. It’ll probably be next summer before I get to the ac but I’ll have a good idea how to do it now. Thanks for the great videos.

I’m glad you enjoyed the video. It will be nice to have some cold air hitting me in the face this summer. Good luck with your build.

I’m sure you have probably finished the install but if you end up doing more of the ac installs or work check out the stuff called nylog blue for lubing the o rings it’s also a sealant

I’m nowhere near being done but I’ll check it out, thanks. I’m just following the instructions and using what they provided in the kit.

Super clean install and looks great! Could you put a cost breakdown together for this kit and accessories ? And of course how satisfied you are. Thanks much
@RCbasheracer
@RCbasheracer Год назад
I say around $3k for everything. It adds up quick. :)
@Chickeneyegarage
@Chickeneyegarage Год назад
Thanks for the compliment. The ac kit alone with tax was $2085. Add the trinary switch at around $45. If you go to electric fans like I’m using it’s another $330 plus tax. Not counting wiring, relays etc. Adding or changing pulleys plus belts. It adds up so RCbasheracer is probably accurate. If you stick with a manual driven engine fan you save money going that route

Great work, doing my 66 now... What did you paint your raidiator with & what prep did you do? Thanks!!!
@Chickeneyegarage

Thanks. I can’t remember what I prepped it with but I think it was 600 or 800 grit sandpaper. I painted VHT epoxy paint satin black
