Okay Guys. Here's the second part of our tour with Connor. In this installment, we are going to see both the north and south hangars at Fantasy of Flight, as well as a couple of our work shops . . . ending with a walk through of the B-17 immersion exhibit. Come along and get a glimpse of the attraction that has not been seen since we closed to start ACT III planning.
Hope you enjoy!

That young fellow will remember this for the rest of his life. My older brother who was a Navy pilot showed me several WW2 - Korean Conflict Navy airplanes when I was about his age (age 10 in 1950). Those memories are as alive today as they were back then. Thank you for your patience with the young man. This is something he will always remember. We didn't meet you when we were there, but we really enjoyed touring the museum. God bless you for preserving the beautiful aircraft. By the way the Yorktown was my brother's ship. He got off of it to attend flight school just before it left for Pearl Harbor. He ended his career on the Yorktown's sister ship, the FDR. He was the air intelligence officer. I have seen one photo of the FDR in the Med with a U-2 on the flight deck! This brought back good memories. Thanks for posting this video. from Texas.

Thank You, Kermit. I'm sure Conner will never forget this personal tour of the F.O,F Museum. It brought back a lot of fond memories for me of my wife's and my tour of your facility in 2011. The immersive experience was so total that my wife started getting airsick while walking through the B-17, I still kid her about that. I hope to be able to pay a visit again this year. Stay safe and keep sending these wonderful videos.

What a kid! Both of them, Connor, and Kermit! I could relate to this kid, better impulse control than I'd have had. Did'ya notice how he was holding his hands behind his back? He must have really wanted to touch the airplanes to know that they're real and he's not imagining what he's seeing. Life is a dream, but it is also real.

As someone who first went to your museum at about 8 years old, and who is now a pilot and historian. I just want to say thank you. Thank you for lighting the spark in traditional aviation like this young gentleman. Thank you for continuing the fire that you helped ignite in my life as well as my father. I have been in aviation since I was born more or less from my father. I have met you three times in my life, and have been to fantasy of flight five times. You are an idol of mine still at 25 years of age. I can say I unfortunately am not necessarily where I want to be in my aviation career, but that fire continues to burn with these videos. I see myself in this young man looking at these amazing historical birds. I just want to say thank you for continuing and supporting the true heart of aviation. I hope to meet you again and eventually fly warbirds and be part of an aviation legacy like you

You have earned my Subscription! When I was a young boy such as Connor I really loved planes and I decided I was going to join the Air Force. I took JROTC for 4 years in High School hoping it would help my AF career. It did even though it was Army JROTC. My father did not want me to join the Air Force active duty So I compromised and joined the Kentucky air National Guard at Stanford Field. Wonderful decision. I was a 46270. I got to “Play on RF-4C aircraft when i was 18 yo, how cool is that! I played banjo in a country and Bluegrass band with my mother and father. I have been playing the banjo since I was nine years old and I am now 59 years old. I pick a little Guitar, Dobro, Mandolin, Bass. I have always loved aviation, but I have never been able to realize my dream. Keep up the great work! Hope to visit maybe next year!

Great job Kermit. Just to see the look on Connor's face - I can recall my first airshow at Biggin Hill in the UK back in 1978 when I saw a Sea Fury and Fairy Firefly up close - I had the same look of wow! - and that has lasted 40 yrs, including being very fortunate to help work on vintage aircraft at Duxford for 7-8yrs. You well and truly "lit that spark within" that young man. If the US Navy ever has big budget cuts and has to go back to using F4U's (or Hellcats), I know where Connor will be sitting! He will remember that personal tour for the rest of his life - and what a pleasent, knowledgable and respectful boy as well.

Pick an era? The golden era for me. Biplanes to the early monoplane racers. If I could only pick one airplane it would be a flying amphibious like one of your Johnson Wax models. A hard choice between the single or twin engine version. The single for get in and go trips and the twin for farther out trips where the extra engine could save your bacon. WW1 I'd be in the Hat In The Ring Squadron flying their latest airplanes. WW2 I'd fly a Spitfire. Vietnam I'd fly a F4 Phantom. Not much interest in anything after those. Your turn.

I only live a hour away from Duxford in the UK but I always enjoyed visiting Fantasy of Flight much more. Duxford static displays are a bit boring really and most of the aircraft just sit there collecting dust and appear dead, like stuffed animals. I remember the awesome Fantasy of Flight B17 interactive display most of all, which was set at Horham, UK during WW2. Horham was not one of the more famous 8th Air Force bomb groups , so I always felt it must have had some personal significence to Kermit. It was like an aircraft theme park and was so well done and thought out. I was so sad not to have taken my chidren there before it closed to the public, but at least some of the exhibits are still in place. Thanks for the tour Kermit, brings back happy memories.

Kermit, that was a great tour! For all the MASH moments and photo ops though, much of aviation's history has been through development driven by warfare. There are both lessons in courage and lessons on how it can go catastrophically wrong, both as a civilian or as a military concept. Keep doing what you do, and hope the museum is up and running by the time the Covid business is over. FWIW, I'll bet many people wuld love to hear about the process to hire in for your retirement; I cannot remember his name, but he has contributed to a few of your videos- very talented man.
