Hello Friends, we welcome you to our channel and with a new vlog on a very unique exhibition of Cars at Dastan Auto World Vintage Car Museum in Ahmedabad. This is a private museum. If you are a car enthusiast and are visiting Ahmedabad then you must visit Dastan Auto World one of the interesting tourist places in Ahmedabad. Shri Pranlal Bhogilal and his family own over more than 200 classic and vintage cars and 112 of these cars are on display at his Vintage Car Museum in Ahmedabad.
This Vintage Car Museum is located at 2,200 acres Dastan Farm House on the Sardar Patel Ring Road at Kathwada, Ahmedabad in the state of Gujarat. You can reach there by road, rail or air. You can take a cab, taxi, auto-rickshaw from railway station, bus stop or airport to reach the museum. The Vintage Car Museum is open for visitors from 8 am till 9 pm in the evening. The museum is open all the days of the week.
Visiting charges for the museum is Rs. 100 per person. Visitors will have to pay extra if they want to use their cameras/mobile inside the museum.
Let me give you a brief information on the museum.
This is one of the biggest personal collection of vintage cars, bikes, buggies and utility vehicles. Among the 112 cars, some noted ones stand out; the car that was used in the movie Gandhi of Richard Attenborough and the first May Bach car ever made. Visitors can also find rare and wonderful assemblage of vehicles including a Bentley, Lagonda, Rolls Royce, Cadillac, Austin, Jaguar, Mercedes and Auburns.
The late Shri Pranlal Bhogilal was one of India’s pioneering car collectors. In his fleet of cars about 36 are Rolls Royce cars. Shri Pranlal Bhogilal started the Auto World Museum in his private estate of 2200 acres, Dastan, and earned the Guinness Book of World Record listing in 1987 as the owner of the world's largest private garage. This car museum was set up by Shri Pranlal was the biggest collections of cars open for public viewing in India. He ensured that all cars were in running condition. It is said that in 2006, Ulrich Schmid-Maybach of the illustrious Maybach family flew down to Ahmedabad from Germany to convince Shri Pranlal Bhogilal to sell him a 6-cylinder Maybach car that was designed by his grandfather. However, Shri Pranlal refused to part with this treasure.
The museum also occupies a section for horse-drawn carriages. not much information is available about these carriages unlike the vintage cars. I have covered only car section in my documentary.
Shri Pranlal Bhogilal passed away in 2011 leaving behind a huge legacy that is being carried forward by his family and loyal staff and the Vintage and Classic Car Club of India which was founded by him in 1985 to preserve this rich automobile and motoring heritage of India.
There is, a Food Restaurant, The Vintage Village inside this premises provides authentic Gujarati Thali, Punjabi Thali and Fast Food. Most of the people who visit the restaurant also take a tour of the Auto world. There is also a kids play area on the premises. Hence you have lots of entertainment on this premises with an opportunity to see a unique exhibition of Vintage cars.
I hope you enjoyed this video. If you like, please share and also subscribe our channel if not done. See you in our next vlog, till then have a very nice time. Thank you.
