PLEASE SEE VIDEO LOG BELOW DESCRIPTION :)
Here's another collection of calls featuring Bob Grant dealing with one gavone after another! I apologize for the diminished audio quality on the second half of this compilation. The original cassette tape was stored in a damp cellar and suffered as a result. I'm happy I was able to digitize the salvageable material to share with Bob's fans here on RU-vid. We've lost a giant!

The greatest aspect of Bob Grant was that he was the most honest talk show host I have ever heard. In the early 90s prior to his dismissal at WABC was the best run of radio I have wee heard.

@@doctorkazoo Of all the talk radio show,hosts he was my favorite from 1976 til his retirement around 2006. WABC radio was the best talk radio I know in NYC. I have listened to talk radio since 1975. The best talk radio after midnight was the late great Art Bell.

I would listen to Bob while driving home. Sometimes, when he really got going I'd laugh so hard that I had to keep both hands on the wheel to prevent an accident. I'd be crying laughing and it's hard to drive like that. He was truly one of a kind. Between yelling at people to 'blow your nose, get off my phone, you're a fake, phony, fraud; Hey Minelli - I gotta get outta here! - (How are you Bob?) - I'll give you my number and you can call me at home and we'll chat!" Pure genius!

To all who have contributed audio to this page: thank you. I have to figure out how to transfer the audio from the tapes I had to RU-vid. There will never be anyone close to being the next Bob Grant. Everyone who is associated with talk-radio (listeners, sponsors, programmers, hosts, etc.) owes everything to Bob Grant. he did not invent this genre, but he defined it and opened doors fro all who have followed him in this industry, and will follow him in the future.

Well stated Bill and all this vintage audio is taken from a cassette tape I made years ago. I used Audacity to record the audio from an old tape recorder onto my laptop and then I used Windows Movie Maker (which kept crashing my buggy computer) to save it as a movie file for RU-vid. There may be a smarter/ simpler way to get the job done but that's what worked for me!

Aired in the middle of the Crown Heights unrest in 1991. Pretty wild show. Pt. 2 is also uploaded.... More to come.. katherinesdaddy1: I watched an ESPN documentary about the Triple Crown winning race horse Secretariat about 10 years ago. Someone on that horse's crew said when he and his colleagues saw Secretariat go into high gear in the backstretch at Belmont Park in '73, they feared that he would drop dead from going too hard. When he reached the top of the homestretch, he and a few others were misty-eyed. They never saw anything like it. I get that way sometimes when I listen to these audio clips. There will never be another Bob Grant. No one will come close.

I have all but stopped listening to what passes off as talk-radio. The hosts, regardless of whether they are local or syndicated, run for anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour without a caller. I tried getting on several shows, but, every time, the screener said the host doesn't want to talk about what I had in mind. Bob Grant let the callers on the air, regardless of their agendas. He was never boring, always honest, and always entertaining.

@buddyrogers1353
@buddyrogers1353 5 лет назад
@@uploadJ Noory screens calls. The great Art Bell who for all intents and purposes invented the C2C format never had anything more than an East of the Rockies, West of the Rockies and Wild Card phone lines to tell him where the call was coming from. He never had a clue what the caller content would be. That's what made his show so great. For the record, Bob used to cite Art Bell and ask aloud why he didn't think of the concept first. Saying Bell's thing would have been a lot easier for his psyche to accept by just treating every oddball in the universe as legitimate.
@uploadJ
@uploadJ 5 лет назад
@Buddy Rogers Why are you giving me the history - I didn't ask for it. BTW, Art Bell was also a ham callsign W6OBB (we would listen to him on the air on the 80 meter band) interviewed crackpots and had crackpots call into the show. The biggest laugh were the ppl who claimed to be able to do remote viewing. Anybody rational could only take so much of the Art Bell show ... BTW, George Noory for a few years was HOSTING the show. Maybe you missed those years.
