I seen astro turf once on a base instead of felt lol. So the switch is mounted to the base? I’ve not taken apart a westy yet. Is a tank (1909-10) that way too?

No base plates on a tank. They just have a fiber board cover under the bottom you take one screw off then you can take the screws to drop the switch from the bottom from the base.
