Great work guys! You may not know this but your helping all of us out there that do builds/repair/maintenance on these old bikes. If we can educate people on the amount of time it takes to get things just right, maybe we can get paid without folks thinking we’re ripping them off. Also, these bikes worked incredibly well when new, and were very quick for the times, most of the problems surfaced due too time, neglect and lack of proper maintenance. People spend 1000s of dollars and countless hours re-engineering them with “upgrades”. And you are demonstrating the results. All pointless in my opinion. I’ll take a well tuned and fettled stock Triumph any day over something with all these expensive fancy parts. That being said, I will upgrade too electronic ignition if the stock ignition systems are giving trouble. Oh, and don’t even get me started with Mikkooniiii carb conversions !!!! 😜 Bless you both and your families. 🙏🏻
Hello; not to disrespect but is not that way. You never kick and kick; is nothing good for the rings seat. The proceed is prime the rotary pump; put 100cc of oil into crankcase SO you have an instant return to the tank after you fire up the engine; assembled camshafts lobes; bushings; tips of the valves etc with assembly lube; primed all the sludge trap; skirt oil into rocker boxes; in later models put 150cc of oil into primary; connect a gauge to the timing cover; fire up the engine; you will see instantly return oil in the tank and pressure gauge indication pressure. Keep it at MORE than 2000RPM; no idling; shut off the engine and just that.
