I worked for yellow freight when they had brigadier's. I drove a lot of miles in those things driving from maybrook New York to Richfield Ohio! They handle like sports cars! And they were great in the snow
I loved seeing the BOTH of these trucks, I ESPECIALLY liked seeing the Brockway BECAUSE you JUST don't see anything on them I like the FACT that they look like A Mack. Some people can make a mistake because they do look alike. 😊😊
My buddy had one of those single axle and an air lift tag with a Cat in it. It came from a fuel oil company. Back in the 80's we ran together a lot. We were both leased to a crane rental company. I've never seen many Brocks with Cats. It could have been a repower. Owner of the fuel oil company was known for modifying stuff. He had B Models with 18 stud 673s that he turboed and turned the fuel way up. I even saw him build an 18 stud and put fire ring liners in it with a modified head gasket and grooves cut in the head
Sold new by Guinan Brockway (dealer) in Rochester NY to the Penn Yan Boat Company, Penn Yan NY. Build date was 12/16/75. VT903 Cummins V8 with RTF-9513 Roadranger and R170 Rockwell rear axle with 4.33 ratio.
The COE reminds me of the one my dad drove , his was a 67’ or 68’ ? a 318 DD and a 15sp RR. Tandem. Had the green interior. Same red color. He hauled apples with a refer from Peru NY to Hunts Point with it until the cab broke in half. Then he moved into a 76 Astro. The brigadier reminds me of our neighbors log truck his had a 3208 cat. Thanks for the memories
A lot of furniture manufacturers out of Hickory NC had single axle cabover Brockway's and some ran the vt903 Cummins in them and they would run like the devil was chasing them
