Vintage Christmas Decorating Ideas🎄Cozy Cottage Holiday Home Tour🕯️ 

We do not over do with our decorations. We use vintage type decorations on our Christmas tree, (Was trying to buy this year the electric candle lights to remind us of how people used to decorate and had trouble as they were selling out by the time I tried). I used to have some. I do use scented candles; I love candles in order to feel the warmth and now they make the kind that crackle like you have a fireplace on. We place ever green around. I bring in some Holly from outside which we grow. Our decorations are often ones made by family and friends over the years. That means so much. Even a few ornaments on tree were made by some family members. Wreath on the doors of course Electric candles in windows. Red Bows. It is quaint and I think feels warm and cozy here too! We do not over do, and our house is not huge, but enough for us anymore and too much when cleaning. LOL We only decorate downstairs anymore. A few artificial flowers in bedrooms, but not anything to overdone. If company were to come, we would do more for the room they would be in. Christmas pillows on couches and that is about it. The tablecloth in dining room is very old, but still looks nice, it is red with white threads through it depicting vintage type houses. That is about it. We do have lights on porch outside. I do plan to get the old fashion type lanterns with flickering candles. Making it look like an older type home. It is a 1932 brick home, so it is old, I guess really, and think it would work? The candles in windows do flicker. (But to be honest we do not over do. ) We like you just like the charming type home atmosphere. We grew up with a home with family around and when our children were young that is how it was at our own home, The Holiday dinner and the business for a few days. Grandma lived with us and she baked the pies. But things change and do it differently often. Our parents only would put up a real tree as they did not have artificial anyway. And with angle hair on it and we thought it was perfect. The baking made it Christmas! So I and my husband do some baking and we do make a nice dinner. You do not need much in order to have a lovely Christmas and we will be going less and less over time, am sure, But Christmas is about the warmth in our hearts. That is what we all need most. Christmas cards, and baking and love. (And always Tea, of course!)💕👩‍🍳🌲🧁🫖☕
