And where's that car now? In the junkyard after about 11-14 years like most cars from that time. We didn't know a good car when we had one--Probably thinking that Detroit would just keep on making them better each year. "That" did not happen. Now we kick ourselves over and over and over again!!
@@BFSilenceDogood -- My grandpa traded it in on a new 1978 Caprice 4dr. The '69 had 110,000 miles on it and still looked almost new. He drove the '78 Caprice until he passed away in 1990.
I had a Custom Coupe with the concave rear window. It had a 327 with Turbo Hydra Matic. Light green metallic with a light green vinyl interior and a dark green vinyl top.
Got a friend who is a Chevrolet mechanic and has a 1969 Impala Custom coupe it is white with a blue interior fully loaded and was built in Canada in Oshawa Ontario. I remember seeing cars like this on Bewitched.
The Best Looking Year For The Impala Of All Time is the 1969 Model Year According To Me! I was born in 1970, but I remembered when I was young, All of My Relatives, Friends, and Neighbours owning Them! I will take A 1969 Impala Sport Coupe, Custom Coupe, or Convertible with The SS 427 Option on It, Thank You! If I could have Ordered One Of Them Brand New back then, I would have Ordered & Bought One with a Dark Blue Metallic Exterior, a Black Top, and a Dark Blue Interior, or find and buy One in Excellent Drivable Condition Today! The Only Year The Full Size Chevy Cars had the front bumper go completely around the headlights and grille! They should have continued with this Design for years, just like the Triple Tailights for The Caprice (Classic)/Impala (SS), and Double Tailights for The Bel Air/Biscayne! This Look for the Front End of The 1969 Full Sized Chevy Cars was very Unique, Stylish, Distinctive, and Handsome for 1969! My Family, Friends, and Neighbours bought a lot of the Full Size Chevy Cars including: Caprice (Classic), Impala (SS), Bel Air, Biscayne, and Del Ray! My Uncles, especially My Mother's Brothers: All 5 of Them, My Mom was the only Daughter in Her Family, 4 Older Brothers and 1 Younger Brother, and Their Parents/My Grandparents, All bought Full Chevy Cars for Decades: From when Chevrolet began making Cars & Trucks, To Today's 2020 Impala and Silverado Pick Ups! They bought a lot of Chevrolet Cars and Trucks for Family and Farm Use! I Own & Drive A 2015 CAMARO RIGHT NOW! IT IS A SWEET RIDE! WE have never had A "Lemon"! WE always had One "Peach" Of A Vehicle! 😎👍👌🤘✌
You forgot about the Optional Hide-a-Way Headlights on the 1969 Caprice! You could of gotten them as a Mid Year Option on the 1968 Caprice As Well.... 👍
My Dad had a 1969 Impala -350 cubic inch Engine . With the 300 Horsepower. It was lite Green . I would do the Ignition Tuneups on it .In the fall of each year. New Spark Plugs, New Ignition Points, New Ignition Condenser and Distributor Cap and Rotor. Because he would put on about 12,000 to 14,000 Miles each Year. That would get the Engine ready for good cold starting in the Winter, in Minnesota.
probably took you all of about 15 minutes to do all that and cost about as much as couple sandwhiches. Those were the days. Nowadays a tune up costs over a thousand dollars. I want the good old days back.
I remember those days. Miss them too. Today chevrolet does not care if you buy from them. Poor customer care. Funny thing, their competitors sure noticed- great attention from Audi and great customer service.
