Nice radio, produced from 1991 to 1998 so really vintage. I ran an FF3 for many years and only upgraded to a 3VCS around 2012 because I had worn out the throttle potentiometer and thought it was time to upgrade rather than get it repaired. Loved the way it felt in your hand. As for the model numbers, I had a paper address label sticker on the inside of the battery door so you can't lose it.

Very cool bit of kit. I’ve been wondering if something this has less response delay vs the digital stuff. With the digital module I imagine it’s much the same as the modern stuff.

I'm sure it's fast enough, even with the old PCM module. Too much is made of response time in the 10ms or sub-10ms range, when the literal blink of an eye is about 50ms.

@@doctormosfet very true! I always found servo speed to be a much bigger factor. But it was a mind worm that would not hush.

Alway preferring to used period correct radios (27 and 40 Mhz) with any of my RC cars or even boats. But the true is that I'm not racing with them, so I don't need to look if the "channel" is free and so on.
