Take a look at Kilmarnock as it was many years ago! #scottishhistory, #lovelivinghistory, #kilmarnock, #ayrshire, www.jacquelineheronwray.com/, #kingstreettokingsroad, #lovelivinghistory
Goodness, this was a real treat! I am old enough to remember from experience some of the pictures, but the older ones were just wonderful to see, thank you so much!
Nice photos. I forever rememberKimarnock when it had Lauders, the Plaza cinema, the Kiosk Cafe, Campbells and Radio Doctors for the toys and the Regal. McMurrays and House of Fraser for quality department stores……..and the 5Th Dimension space age maze at Girvan.
Great wee video. I was brought up in Hurlford, born 1960, so I recognized many places, but some were before my time. My aunt Jean lived at 10 Charles Street for a few years, so that photo was interesting.
Hi Jackie, loved your photos of old Kilmarnock. How things have changed and not for the better! You might remember me we were at the Grange Academy together, l now live in Chelmsford in Essex l have done for the last 23 years and work for the NHS on London. Glad you are doing well and I hope the book is selling well. Kind Regards Colin Martin
Great to hear from you Colin. Oh how times have changed? It is amazing how do many of us from Grange Academy have found ourselves so far flung! Best wishes to you and yours.
@@jacquelineheronwray6782 Hi Jackie, Lovely to hear from you, yes l have traveled the world in my procurement career especially in my time in the pharmaceutical industry. You are right a lot of us have come a long way from King Street to where we have been and where we are now! Just to say my oldest and best friend you might remember was Graeme Ritchie incase you didn’t know Graeme passed away in September 2019 l still speak to Shirley (Greg) his wife every week and she is doing ok. All the best to you and yours Colin x
@@SJ47668 Hi, no it wasn't a PowerPoint. It syncs with the music and I try to choose the slowest I can find on offer. Not great with technology I am afraid!
If you click on the three dots icon you can adjust the speed of the video. I played it at 1/4 speed and its perfect that way. Still paused it every now and then when there was too much to take in.
The old A1 bus station. I remember round the back of it there was a window displaying a model bus. When they were knocking the bus station down, I tried to get that model as a kid but no way was I getting it. Love old Kilmarnock, not so much what it became…..
