I’ve been collecting vintage clusters for years now. I decided today that I wanted to make some in a particular color. I never dreamed I’d find such an informative and professional tutorial! Thank you so much!
back in the "60's" I made these... .blue & green... I do NOT know what happened to them... a divorce got rid of them some how... BUT anyways.. I just might make them again...I loved them & they were fun to do. They could be bought in a KIT. You got everything you needed to make them. I believe the wire was put into thy resin while still slightly wet. I do not recall drilling them or even drilling holes in the wood.... it was provided also in the DIY KIT back then. Thank you for showing me how to make these in todays age.
I was born in 1960 and have seen those grapes my whole life and never liked them - your version is beautiful. I could also see painting the stick gold or silver for different decor styles too! Bravo!👏👏👏
I’m impressed. Seriously. How to color them? What product do you use to color them? You mentioned drops but didn’t say what exactly. I’m currently attempting to rewire a vintage cluster. My wire doesn’t seem to be gluing in the holes I drilled. I’m using Gorilla Super Glue only.
This DIY is right up your alley, Beau...it's very detailed and you thrive when it comes to the small details. I am in AWE of this DIY. The grapes look museum-worthy, you did an amazing job! Love, love, love!!!!!
Thank you so much, Sherri! This was a project I have been wanting to bring to my channel for some time but alas, with DIY projects comes a learning curve. I’m happy to have finally nailed it 🙌🏼 so glad you enjoyed the end result 🤍🤍🤍
Love your modern take on midcentury decor, they look amazing! Looked like lots of hard work in this project paid off. Thanks for again showing us this❣️
This turned out incredible, Beau! It definitely looked like an undertaking, but they turned out so beautiful and elegant, and they are so cohesive in your space. Wonderful DIY project - thank you for sharing! 🍇✨💙
Fantastic! My Mom had amber colored grapes on our coffee table thru the 70s. In '79 when she was pregnant with one of my brothers we went thru out the house and got rid of most of the decor so she could redecorate in blue & mauve. Jeez, the gorgeous stuff we took to the church's bazaar (all now valuable) kinda breaks my heart. Excellent job, Beau. Your grapes are beautiful. Great DIY.
Wow, Annette! Definitely a nostalgic experience hearing others share what color their parents had on display. I’m so glad you enjoyed my modern take on this classic decor accessory 🤗
I clicked on the "Like" button before even watching your video because I knew it would be good - and it was!! The Lucite Grape Cluster came out beautiful! Have a wonderful weekend my friend.
I hit my button too soon THEY are beautiful and they look so beautiful in your house apartment or whatever it is IT is just beautiful EVERY PICTURE YOU SHOWED WHERE YOU SET THEM WAS JUST SO BEAUTIFUL I JUST LOVE THEM AGAIN YOU MADE MY SATURDAY MORNING ❤️
Hi Beau! Excellent job!! These were expensive back in the day, as well. We also made our own. To insert the wires we cut a cardboard box down on the sides, then wrapped the wire on the sticks. We then cut slits down into the box ends to position the sticks across so the downward wires went the correct depth into the globes (which were held in place down in the box by egg cartons). Just a tip for those who want to make these but don't have a drill 😊 As always I love your personalized take on the classic mid-century staples!!
Wow, thank you for the tips Karen! I definitely may have to try this technique when I make another grape cluster...I have family members who want them now 😆 I appreciate you watching
Hi Beau! I'm loving the grapes you made!! The substancial size and the clear color are perfect!! I personally don't do DIY's but admire those who do. I'm too impatient I think! Good for you for making such a beautiful DIY! I have to tell you I'm obsessed with lamps that are on the table behind you..... they are great! I also like what your wearing today.... the colors, casual but elegant style.... so nice!! I'm enjoying a sunny Michigan winter day and you certainly added to my enjoyment of it. Have a great week ahead and I look forward to the next video. You always brighten my day!
I’m speechless! Your dedication to DIY, and appreciation for vintage items is so beautiful to see. Of course, my own mother had these grapes, in a bowl, on our dining room table. Ours were light gold with a brown stem and some green leaves. Your take on the black, with clear grapes.......ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT! I truly, also, appreciate your attention to detail, especially saying, NOT FOR CHILDREN. Thank you Beau, as always, for such a wonderful video. ❤️NanaJ❤️
I bet it was quite nostalgic to see, NJ! I’ve always had an affinity for vintage pieces...I didn’t grow up with these in my home, but something about them resonates with me and brings me joy 🤗 I’m glad you enjoyed seeing this DIY in action and as always, I appreciate you tuning in! 🤍
While this is, obviously, not a project to finish in an afternoon, the results are just so fantastic, it's worth the time and effort! A really well done DIY - so well-done I would never suspect you created them! Beau, these are are perfect, from conception to completion!
Hi Beau how are you? Beau I’m in awe of your grape clusters you did an absolute amazing job, you will probably be getting orders to make a few. By the way Your cluster looks modern luxurious and oh so classic. Thanks for sharing your amazing vision. Until next time
Hi Robin! I’m doing well today, thank you for asking 😊 happy to hear that you enjoyed this DIY and seeing my modern take on a classic home decor accessory. I appreciate you tuning in!
Wow, Beau! Those are BEAUTIFUL!!! You should be so proud, that is quite the adventure and you made them yourself! Just stunning!!! Do more DIY’S, you are very talented and fun to watch. Have an awesome weekend, Beau. 👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼😘 Zee
Beau!! What can I say?! I’m SO proud of you! These are insanely gorgeous. I actually had this on my list to DIY but with clay and never got around to it. You hands down killed it with the resin version! I’ve used that particular resin for years when I was a jewelry designer. It’s terribly stinky. But wow Beau, so impressed with the turnout! I also missed that you made these on IG..I was scrolling so fast this morning lol! Seriously, you killed this project! 🤩🤩🤩
Thank you so much, Liz! I really appreciate this compliment 🤍 it is most certainly a sharp scent but well worth the discomfort 😆 I’m so glad you enjoyed the DIY and seeing me in action.
I made grape clusters at middle school. Both sets I made were purple and added grape leaves. Brought back great memories. And it sure didn’t cost that much to make. That was in 1970-71 that I made them. I made a resin lamp in a metal frame as well.
I have purchased grape clusters while thrifting, just because they are cool...but also because they remind me of many 1970's coffee table Dec decorations!!! Fabulous, Beau!!! Love the clear!!!
Wow!Wow! What an awesome cluster of grapes with such good clarity, best DIY ever!! You can sell them, I noticed that they are becoming 'big' in home decor again. Great job Beau! ....Stunning 😍🙏🏻
Also, as a child, my mom had grape clusters. I remember greens, purples and the clear ones. I thought they were just beautiful. You did a fantastic job for your first time. Well done!
How ingenius. I love these grape clusters Beau. They would look great in a tray, hanging near other art, hanging alone or laying down beside other decor.
Beau you are too perfect! From your apartment down to your super beautiful teeth and perfectly coifed hair! Love your vids and content 😊 totally going thrifting this weekend 👍😁🤞
I’m a big fan of these but I gave up hope of ever finding any that were affordable or that matched my space. This turned out amazingly well! I’m impressed. Awesome DIY.
I appreciate the compliment, Angie! It’s true, they are so expensive in the second hand market...I hope to find a cluster out in the wild, but until then this DIY has sufficed 😆
So inspiring! Clever you. Definitely not kid friendly, I giggled unsure safe for me. I loved on your table. I now understand the cost. Happy weekend stay warm
Wow! Yes, stunning. Now I can see why these grape sculptures are so expensive. They are so work intensive. You really impressed me with this video, Beau. 👏 great job. Can’t stop looking at it!
GORGEOUS! I recently sourced 4 beautiful MCM grape clusters. After watching the amount of time and effort it takes to make these, I can certainly appreciate their price point...bravo Beau!😍
My gramma had some that were rubbery? As kids we used to pick them off and fire them at each other. 🙀 I also think my mom had some that were glass..... So cool! I love glass and lucite
Beau, u truly outdid yourself w this project! The "grapes" look fantastic. I remember seeing colored ones at my grandmother's house as a child. I never cared for them, but your simple clear set is just perfect.
