I love this Rooster and enjoyed watching your process of layering the 🌻 sunflowers so much! I was attracted to ceramic Roosters for a long time, and did not buy a couple I ran across, that I still regret not getting. At the time my decor just did not support having chickens in my kitchen. Eventually I kept being attracted to them anyway and I picked up a life size pair, Hen and Rooster, out thrift shopping that I have really enjoyed. My Rooster is black and white and reminds me of the Dominecker breed teal chickens we had when we lived on our Farm a few years. Mine is not the majestic specimen that yours is though. I love his gorgeous tail feathers and realistic head. ❤️ Great job!
I definitely overpaid for my rooster, especially given that I knew I would repaint him, but I absolutely love him! I adore French Country, but my husband does not, unfortunately. He’s my only rooster. I only got away with him because 1) I collect sunflowers, 2) my grandsons call him Hei Hei (from Moana). Thanks for watching! Your booth’s rooster was fabulous!
The tray with the layered flowers was BY FAR my fave but I'm working on a second cigar box for my GMA as a jewelry box and you gave me ideas for that as well!

lol. I was told by Heather that I'm to stop taking all the stock. lol. With the exception of the new Botanical Paradise, I had all of these as leftovers from previous projects. lol. I am ordering more of the Floral one you requested. We've put 4 prima orders in this month, but keep being sold out of one that someone wants (that we previously had in stock) lol. We have a system to start reordering when we are down to 1.

I’ve had some recently acquired cigar boxes for a while. Im sure how to work with them because the labeling and detail on the wood is carved into it. Now that I’ve seen you repurposing these boxes, it gives me a new way to approach these. Thanks!

I understand completely. We have had to change ours as well. Used to have a 10,000 sqft store. Now we have a 1450 sqft one and do as much online as we do brick & mortar.

Thanks for watching! I consider what people pay when they shop at other stores, like Kirkland’s, Hobby Lobby, etc. I also consider how much I have in the piece as far as cost of item, products, and time.
I used Silk mineral paint, so there is no need to seal afterwards. I did use wax to add a pearl finish. If you wanted extra protection, or a food safe ingredient, that would probably be my recommendation.

Hello! Your boxes are lovely! I put transfers on a mirror about a year ago and am tired of it. Do you know if transfers on glass can successfully be removed and reused? I'd like to make similar boxes, anyone know of a good inexpensive source for boxes?
I get most of my boxes from thrift stores. You can also ask at cigar stores. Sometimes they will give them away. As far as getting transfers off of mirrors. That will be easy. Use window cleaner and a razor blade scraper. If you still struggle add hear from a blow dryer or heat gun.

I spent today making my own printed tissue paper for decoupage with my stamps and inks. I'm building up fresh stock for a November holiday sale. Praying it doesn't get shut down! New this year I will be selling my watercolor paintings of blue and white Chinoiserie and gifts of same, a collection of fall gifts and watercolors, Christmas themed gifts and paintings, and Summer. I have table and wall space for each. Thanks for you help!
The first stamps you use on the box...I think its the Marmalade stamp from that IOD collection....I like Prima too and if they have the same sets, I HAVE to order some, as they are usually cheaper than IOD and with Amazon Prime you get free shipping! I have a lot of Prima moulds, but nothing else like that from them...I hope they make transfers!
It’s possible, sometimes I mistake the two when I grab them, as they are similar. Often I’ll have both out at the same time. We sell the stamps, and a lot of other DIY. Shipping is free if you order more than $50. Vintagebeedesign.com
I apologize for missing your comment. I hate it when something slips through without me seeing it! I generally price based on what the market will bare. I look around at other stores, when I'm out and about, and see what artists (and retailers) are charging. I consider what buying wholesale and selling retail would cost, etc. It's always sort of a guessing game though. I know some people charge 3x the cost of materials, but I don't personally feel that's a good way to calculate as it doesn't calculate time.
