I've had one of these MF-203 machines for at least 25 yrs., and I still use it frequently. Although mine seems a little different from any I have run across. Mine has very wide rear fenders extending the width of the wheelbase. The machine has badges indicating it was made in Coventry GB but the backhoe/loader has Cessna/US controls. Would love to restore it but worry about locating parts especially gauges.
First job out of high school was operating the previous model hoe to this one. Identical except no side slide. pump was driven off of the front of the crankshaft. Plenty of pressure, but only enough volume to operate one ram at a time. Made for slow going !
That is almost identical to my dad's. I was very sad that he sold it back in the 70s. I used to love watching him take the backhoe on and off. He used that tractor mostly for rototilling commercial properties. If I could I would like to find one to restore.
It's a 20 series tractor with the backhoe/loader as a "kit" added on (factory fit). I had one which I sold in France four years ago. I was a good little unit but the narrow front bucket meant that it was difficult to level ground with it.
I have a MF 20 industrial and a MF 40, my 20 is a tin nose and the 40 looks just like this one, even the loader bolts to the side of the bonnet like this one
Akis Iakovou its an early 203 or 205 (the 205 had a forward - reverse transmission operated from the right hand foot plate) Later mk2 versions of 203/5’s have a brace in the loader frame. MF40’s have a parallelogram linkage arrangement on the front loader. 702’s were based on earlier 4 cylinder 35’s and have their exhaust on the right side of the engine - this one has a Perkins 3 cylinder......
