The reason it was rattling was that after 60+ years it needed some oil on the motor shaft bushings. I used to collect fans like that. I wanted only the ones that you could stick your finger into it through the grille. That one was in good condition and collectable.
His other fan destruction videos were actually quite funny but this just passes me off because I absolutely love metal vintage fans even if there a less common brand I still love them I restored one from a antique shop that had a completely seized motor and was in terrible condition and now I still have it and it works great I don't care if you break the cheap plastic fans but when you break something that is older than you are and that really gets me mad as that was a sign of quality that it was made of metal that fan could have lasted another 50 or hundred years.
@@smashthings1 It's not that you destroy metal fans that this is me off it's that you destroy something that has real value and that has seen many things in its life and has been through something as significant as World War 2 or the twin towers of 9/11 being destroyed for John F. Kennedy being elected or assassinated that's what gives these fans from so long ago such value is not just because they're made of metal it's because they were made with quality and they have sentimental value to people that know what quality that items from the past hold. I don't mind that you destroy stuff that's made today because most of it is crap to begin with and it's funny but I think I can speak for multiple people when I say that you should destroy vintage fans because once they're gone they're gone there like brain cells by themselves they may not be significant but when their clustered together it's when they have true value.
very simalar to the westing house plastic blade fan. also i like how you just do what you want and don't listen to the hatters, love the videos keep it up
These old metal fans are useless yes they move air but when something goes wrong they can’t be fixed this is why I don’t own any with this design they fail so easy
