That's great Peggy! I love that you found something new!! These little gals are great and really easy to make so I hope you'll give them a try! Happy crafting!!!
I subscribed and turned on notifications. I haven't seen this since I was 11 years old. I'm 56 and live in Lutz, Florida thanks for taking me back to my childhood
Yay!!! Welcome to the Glue Dot family Nita! I'm so happy that this brought you wonderful memories! Thank you so much for watching and for subscribing!!!
Well I hope you re-enrolled your little angel to curtail her bad gestures ;) they are just darling Elaine. There once was a pattern book on different type of mop dolls and creatures and should I be able to find it I will let you know. You do crafting justice Elaine with your sense of humour and willingness to show us just what we COULD do. Thank you and take care. xx
Those strings on the Dollar Tree mop pull right out really easy. You could pull them all out & then make the middle & do it just like you did your other one.
I made a tutorial back when I was 16 on mop angels. It was a craft that I made with my aunt and I wanted to preserve that knowledge since nobody else has ever created a tutorial on it. There was no knowledge or information and mine was the only one out there that had some kind of preservation to it. In my video I asked that anyone to recreate a tutorial on it because It was my first time and I was very bad at it so I pleaded for help. Many years later, I’m turning 21 this Saturday and I come to find that this wonderful lady is recreating the mop doll Tutorial that I wanted to preserve for crafters and holiday enthusiasts alike. As soon as I heard her mention that I was the inspiration, I actually cried because now I know the video I tried to do almost 5 years ago was worth it and there is now a real tutorial with a step by step guide to preserve such a beautiful craft. So to the owner of this video, from the bottom of my heart I wanted to thank you immensely for recreating the video I’ve been wanting to do for many years.
I'm so glad to hear from you John! You were such a joy to watch and you warmed my heart. I'm grateful to know that this came back around to you and that you appreciate my recreating it. People really love it!!! Reading what you wrote to me above made me cry! You're adorable and I would love to see your last created angel!! Please email me at midnightcrafter65@gmail.com. You made my day today!!! What a blessing you are!
The Angel's are so cute. I like the tree beside them. I will check the link below for instructions. Looks like it is made from the back scratchers from dollar tree.
I think I like the smaller one better myself Elaine, but they are both adorable! My sister-in-law made me an angel from loops of fabric, same head design 'hair' etc., years ago, I hang it up every Christmas! 👼
I LOVE your voice!!! and you just KNOW what and how to do the things you do and they turn out so well...... Thank You for taking the time to do these videos for us!!!!!! I think the little one will make a great adornment for my babies resting place to honor her this season!!! Thank you!
You're so nice Becky. Thank you for the beautiful compliments and for appreciating my efforts. I'm so sorry for your loss.... how devastating. I wish you many blessings. Happy crafting!!
One thing I've learned from watching you Elaine..... go potty before watching your videos. Why? Because you're bound to say something that sends me to laughing and then....... Well, you know. I forgot to this time. OOOOPS. 🙄 I love your humor, your authenticity. I relate to both. I hope to one day meet you. Yes, I have a mop angel. Unfinished. The head is fabric that I stuffed. As many times as I've moved it's a wonder I still have her. Yours are beautiful.
Today is the first time I have ever seen these. I love them and I want to make some for christmas. They will be so amazing over my mantel. Thank you...

Omgosh .I have been looking all over utube trying to find these. When I seen ur channel pop up showing these I all but screamed lol. Ty Ty Ty.I wanted to teach my granddaughter to make them I use to make them many many years ago but I forgot how to do so. TYSMFS.....❤💚💜
Mom Marshall.................I remember these from the past. I always wanted to see one of them being made.I've akways wanted to make one, so thanks for sharing, I have just found your channel.
I made mine about 30-35 years ago. I love it. It usually comes out every Christmas. Depending who decorates. We used fabric and stuffing for the head/face, part of the top strands for bangs and a circle made of lace for the head cap. She holds a small bouquet in her hands the hang and meet in the middle. And a 1" lace down the middle from the chin down the length of the mop. I will have to get her out for further instruction of how she is put together.
Thank you! A coworker made me one of these during the early 1990's and I've loved it so much. The head was sewn and face painted on w eyes closed. Just paint. Head piece was made out of the gold snowflake wire gift trim and she was holding a bouquet kinda like at a wedding. Seems like she was put together a little differently than your way. Payed $20 for her back then. I just subscribed to your channel. Take care.
Welcome and thank you so much for joining the Glue Dot family!! I'm grateful to have you here and happy you like this video! Now you'll be able to make your own! 😃 Happy crafting!!
Looove them! The dollar tree mops , the black part.does come.off🤗 you just have to use something to pry the inside piece open, did 20 of them today, they come off rather easy 💜
Hi Elaine. I am totally en joying your previous Christmas videos as well as the ones in 2020. Better than tv for sure! LOVE these cute Christmas angels, classic rustic crafting. Blessings XO
I love the angels my auntie makes all kinds for my mother but as my mother passed away I didn't even one so happy to see how you made them so I can make one for my girls . love love them.ty so much . love them
I had one given to me back in 1976. It has gone by the wayside and I always had her hanging in between the stocking on the mantle. I’ m going to make a new one because of this video. Thank you so much.
Such a beautiful craft. That plastic fitting from the dollar store mop can be modified by heating up an old butter or steak knife on a gas stove or with a propane torch. The hot knife will cut through very easily.
Next Christmas probably in November I'm going to start a craft business and I want to have an angel line and I absolutely love this it's so beautiful and country 💓 thank you 😊❤️
Oh my Elaine, this mop Angel brought back so many great memories! My sister in law and I made these about 35 years ago! She still has hers! Totally forgotten this awesome craft! I will make some for sure. Thanks again! Yours are just adorable ❣️
that is so cool. I remembered doing them as a child in school and with girl Scouting as a leader. I lovee your Angels.. they are awesome. When I did it with Girl Scouts. The wings were made with Popsicles sticks. We glue them across and then we cut out the shape that we wanted and then we painted them and decorated them with glitter and lace. the girls were quite creative. The halo. we made with gauge wire and had them with a stick extension from the neck area and also added glitter and some added cotton as well. For the Brownies age girl scouts, we just made the wing with contraction paper and added the lace and glitter on it and then made the halo from the wire and and added. It was a big success all the time!.. It has been a while since I made them, I retired from Girl Scouting after 25 years.. Wish I had not, but My bones are not as young as they used to be. LOL. WIsh I had kept some of the angels I made over the years, I donated them to the G.S. council to have to show examples for New Leader needed tips on crafts. Next time I go to the store... I may just pick up a mop and do it for the Heck of it ...Maybe surprise my daughter with it and remind her of the good old days when she was a Girl Scout!.. Thanks for bring up a great memory ..
