I think you did pretty well with your predictions, a few lower, but a few higher as well! I am going with the Clemente as my favorite! Thanks for sharing and keep on rocking!
Topps 1953 Whitey Ford - right up my alley. Great design. Great vintage cards all the way around. I would imagine Mays cards (which are already priced high) will skyrocket when he passes. The 1960 Clemente is probably my favorite card of his. Great colors.
Thanks Drew! I agree, the Ford is such a good looking card! The 60 Clemente has great eye appeal (in general, not mine since it has a pencil mark across his shoulders). I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Darren, I'm glad you overall got some grade around what you were expecting! Congrats, my collecting brother! We are clubbies on Whitey Ford's first Topps card! That Willie Mays is a beauty! All great cards! 😊👊
Thanks Adam! Glad we're Joe D and The Chairman clubbies! It was refreshing to get grades that aligned with my expectations for once! I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Love all those cards, regardless of grades as they all present really well. I was going to pick a favorite but I like them all. Thanks for sharing them Darren.
Thanks Brian! The Mays was tough, it was super clean, but had bad corners. In general, I was happy with the grades this time. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Great cards Darren! Love the 59 Aaron and Mays, great iconic cards! 63 fleer Clemente is one of his best cards, congrats on the 4! PSA seemed to be overall tough on you but atleast nothing was unfair.
Thanks Theo! I was thrilled to get the cards back, after their 4 month trip to PSA... I was happy with the grades, for the most part. I agree, the 63 Fleer Clemente is a great looking card! I appreciate you watching and commenting, my friend!
Darren, I think that's why I'm hesitant to send cards to PSA and Beckett. I collect both slabs but I always think they'll forget about my cards due to the long return time, lol. Great cards of great players, really love that '63 Fleer set and really nice '79 Strikeout Leaders card. They all look good in the PSA slab, congrats on the return!
Thanks Sammy! It took forever, but I was happy with the grades. Could have been worse, they could have all come back minimum size requirement... Always a risk sending to PSA. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Thanks Mookie! The Fleer Clemente is a fun card to add to the collection. Its always nice when the grades seem reasonable... I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Thanks Hammer! Its great to have them all back in the collection! I agree, the grades were all reasonable (maybe a little low on the Aaron). I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Awesome vintage cards!! Enjoy your content!! You have a remarkable collection!! Where do you get your cards from? How long have you been collecting to put together such an amazing collection?
Thanks Ken! I buy my raw cards at cards shows and card shops. The majority of my graded cards I bought on eBay or card shows. I sometimes buy from the bigger auction houses. I picked up one card over Facebook. I've been back in to collecting for about 4 years. Been a fun ride so far! I appreciate the kind words! Thanks for watching!
Ha! Thanks John! Nothing like getting burned on the Valenzuela rookie. It could have been the highlight of the bunch. Upside, it was pack pulled, so if it had gotten the requisite 5 or 6, it would have ruined the reveal. Maybe I should appreciate that it got denied.
Great reveal, Darren - those vintage are right in my wheelhouse! I love the ‘63 Clemente - such an under appreciated card. Your grades seem pretty accurate - I would definitely be happy with them. Also, I sent a vintage submission back in November, and a 90’s submission in December - my vintage submission is still in “grading”, and my 90’s are currently being shipped back. Seems like vintage always takes longer.
Thanks Tom! Yeah, the vintage cards always take a long time, unless you pay considerably more for the expedited grading. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Loved this sub!! You got some really nice grades I think.Seemed like PSA was right on with almost all their grades. I have been doing really good with my blind reveal videos as far as accuracy goes. I posted a couple 1960s videos not long ago and will be posting more soon. Keep the great content coming!!
Thanks Ray! I was super happy to get these back! The Ford is such a great looking card. Love the 53 Topps set! I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Nice set of Hall of Famers in this reveal. Can never go wrong with Mays or Aaron cards. Love the 53 Whitey Ford, from one of my favorite sets. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks David! I was happy with the grades, but frustrated by the absurd turnaround time. It almost like they purposely hold the basic submissions back so that you're more likely to pay for expedited next time. Good marketing move, I guess. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Some nice cards in there. I didn't know that PSA would grade a card a 1 with a qualifier. In particular, I figured a mark on a card would just make it a 1. Oh well, I guess I need to look at the grading standards again. Thanks for sharing, Darren!
Thanks Will. Glad you enjoyed! I agree, a 1 shouldn't require a qualifier, but that just helps bring the value down just a bit more... 😂. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Nice reveal! The '61 Maris for card #2 is fantastic, the '63 Fleer Clemente is great, as is the '53 Ford (that's a strong 2.5 I think). I wish that '59 Aaron did better for you, the VG seemed tough. Thanks for sharing, Darren!
Great reveal! 59 Aaron looks much better than a 3 for sure. The PSA Modern Sports special I believe starts with 1989, so they aren't going to help you out with the 81 and 83 either, ha! The 80's are officially now the in between era!
Thanks Jeff! So the 80s cards cost like a vintage and get graded as slow as a vintage, but can't be included in a vintage submission... makes sense. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
I’d love to know what they charged you for each card. I’ve never submitted to PSA before and find the estimated value declaration confusing. A video of you filling out the form and final pricing would be helpful for us newbies.
@@returntocollecting What do you think a Gretzky, bench and Ryan rookie cards...probably nothing less than a 7 and maybe even all of them 8's cost? How high do they go on card like Ryan's and Gretzky?
Nice cards! It's funny that the 1960 Clemente is the lowest grade you can get because it presents really well compared to other PSA 1 cards I've seen. I'd be happy with all those cards in my collection.
Thanks Mark! I was fairly happy with the grades. I think the key piece of the Clemente was the pencil line across his neck (I missed that when I sent it in). I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Ive been considering getting my more iconic 68s graded. How is a vintage submission priced? I thought PSA priced by estimated value of final graded card? Nice cards though!
Thanks Troy! Their pricing for those aren't bad. They charge $25-$30 for 68 topps. If you have a Mantle that grades above a 7, they'll charge you an upfee for that. You can claim they are all worth $499 (max value for that grading level), they'll then bill you the difference after they're graded. They're typically pretty cool about it. Unless is clearly much more valuable, they won't charge the upfee.
Awesome cards, not so much with PSA My friend just got his back after 14 month Still can't figure out why folks sub with them. Great cards though, thanks for sharing.
