Great video! Good to know vintage designers! Anything modern brands like Gucci, YSL, Dior, and Chanel are going to command a lot of money because they go for a lot to begin with. So maybe not worth including. And also everything that is croc leather that is selling for high money is because of the genuine croc leather. That's what drives the price. Look up Hermes handbags that are ostrich, snakeskin, croc leather that go for astronomical amounts of money
Fun Fact, my mom went to the same Beauty Shop as Enid Collins and my parents played cards with she and her husband. My mom had many of the early prototype box bags. Also Magnolia Pearl is from the same city as Collins and we all know them too.
The kisslock fur sporran is actually a traditional accessory for the well-dressed Highlander. It is worn on the front of the kilt and traditionally badger fur.

Thanks Kat! Good information. Condition on these is a must! I really lucked out once and found a Mandoylin mesh purse in excellent condition at a thrift store. I'm almost ashamed to pick one up that inexpensively. When I was very young, I was playing in our old farmhouse basement and found a Mandoylin purse in the dirt in the tornado shelter underneath the front steps. It was my great great aunt's. Also, in excellent condition. Again, lucky to have it. My mother displayed it eloquently when she was still living.
OMG that LL Bean tote, must be from when they first started. Reminds me of when I first started selling on eBay. I went to a consignment shop in the nice part of town. Found this new in package with tags tote bag, it was an ESPRIT. Black with rainbow lettering. It took me back to being a teen in the 80s. I bought it for myself paid $1 but the reseller in me looked it up. I was shocked at the prices. Ended up running an auction on it and sold it for $300. I was hooked ! 🌈🖤
Thanks for another great category video! When I went to a tag sale yesterday, I did inspect the vintage purses, that I usually ignore, because in my experience, they haven't sold for much. I now have a new respect for them. I also think the beaded spider web would be fun to add to a purse as a OOAK.😃

Watching this video makes me get up and run to our local goodwill. LOL. The other day I picked up there four purses, all leather, all 5-6$ apiece. One especially was interesting, but un branded, so I listed it this morning for 40$, and have 16 lookers already. yep, those purses are selling!!
I just recently found out those LL Bean tote bags are a bolo. Apparently they are quite popular in Japan and that's where at least some of those customers paying top dollar for them live. I have an LL Bean boat and tote made with tarp from Fenway Park/The Red Sox, but I don't think I can ever sell it.
@@TheNurseFlipper they literally last forever so I think that's why that one went for so high even though it was a little rough looking. I still wouldn't pay that much, but they are good quality!

I keep going over our videos and I have a suggestion for reselling research...what about modern bags and pursses that people are collecting a little newer than MCM and before 2000? Would be really pshyched to see one of your brilliant compliation research videos that give us a good idea of what is 70's to 2000 and selling in the $100-$500 area if anyone else is interested like me please like my comment #YOLO I have been reselling clothing for so long but one of the things I find sells really well are fashion accessories and not always jewelery. I have been hanging on to Betsy Johnson pre Steve Madden, Artisan and handmade leather cross body bags, Candy Couture Bags not kidding, and sigh Coach, the kiss of Deadh for me as a reseller. Thanks I love your research content it inspires me but it also have me looking at a lot of stuff that has been stored in bins from those specific decades, I kind really did put a lot away and collected even more over the years based on future speculation. Appears its something I'm glad I did and moved around for 35 years but its much easier when you can get a lot of information all at once so you know what to look at to figure out how to price an item.

Really enjoyed this video on vintage purses! I love buying purses and have several. I have nothing like the ones you featured. Wait, I just may have to take that back....lol!! I. did pick up a little small purse which could be a lucite one. The bakelite one looked heavy compared to the one I have. Too, I have a YSL one, but, I'm not sure if it is fake or not. Any tips on what to look for, would be appreciated! I stopped buying purses a while back telling myself I have plenty. Now you" ve given me a good reason , to buy them again. This time my purchase wil be more selective, thanks to you! 😁

Now all contents are for sale for 1.00 copy machines desks kitchen items and all donations that they received for “their” thrift store.
