This video is over the top gratifying. Its amazing these older trees are still in beautiful picture windows. I bought a new one in 2005. It came with the color wheel. It doesn't get very bright. I'm on the look out for another wheel. 2 might do the trick. A work in progress here also. I loved this show and will replay it more than I probably should. 😉

That's weird, mine is about the same height tree, but there are three different size branches. Each group varies by about 3 inches - top, middle, and bottom. I assumed that all trees of this type were the same as mine, but it looks like all of your branches are the same size. One year the incandescent color wheel stopped rotating, and it melted one of the colored sections, thus destroying the balance and it wouldn't rotate anymore. We have so many legacy family decorations we have to separate them by style, and we change the tree a little bit each year. An extra blessing I discovered this year is modern-day LED bubble lights, which look remarkably like the originals!
Norm's sweater is great. Back in 7th grade, (1979) had to assemble an aluminum tree for student council. We ended up doing half the tree with the branches downward before we realized we were doing it wrong! Your Christmas tree is beautiful.

Love that it spins!!!! I’ve never seen one like that before. I grew up with a similar tree-even the storage box was similar. But we had the spinning color wheel for our tree. TFS Beautiful!!❤ I’ve had a silver/aluminum/tinsel type tree my entire life and still love the beauty of it.
I'm only at the 14 minute mark and I can't believe how awesome this video is. I'm making a video for my family and it all centers around our grandparents house in the late 60's/early 70's and she had a tree just like this, with the color wheel, all the ornaments you have, etc. My mind is blown and I thank you so much for posting this, it's giving me the best ideas. Thanks for the video. I know both of you put so much love into your collecting, and I'm glad and thankful that you share it with us. Two of my aunts had aluminum trees, but we never did. We bought a revolving stand back in the mid-70s. We rescued it after Superstore Sandy (the box was trashed). It's holly green with silver flecks. We use it every other year or so. (Some years we buy a real tree.)

Oh that video of your lovely tree and ornaments was fantastic!🎄 I loved viewing the ornaments up close. It brought back so many memories. It took me back to my childhood. One of the glass ornaments I remember buying at Grant's dime store for 5 pennies that I had saved up. That was 1958 or 1959 in Southern California. President Roosevelt in 1941 seized all of Japan's assets and halted trade with them also so depending on the actual age of some of your ornaments it's most likely they are from China if it's 1941 or later. Love that you keep the vintage Christmas alive and well!
I absolutely love your tree, we had one when I was little early 70’s I don’t know what mom did with it 😢 I wish I still had it I’ve wanted one every since but the ones I’ve seen at antique shops are so expensive I’ll just keep wishing and wanting!!!
Mom was the fluff pom pom in 1969 of course had the color wheel it was 6 to 7 feet tall look like diamonds from the street wish I had it I put it in front of my front window love the spot lights be nice to know where you can purchase them .True old Christmas to me just like the C7 lights with real or artificial tree with tinsel / ice cycle which I still use every year on the green artificial .
I’ve just watched your video of all of your retro or vintage Christmas things they r absolutely gorgeous n the condition of them all is amazing they look brand new n so many things u must love Christmas n your collection but I realize it’s yours n in your home over these years by our dedication to it n to display all of that what a job of love n you’re sharing it but honestly did u ever think of a Christmas Museum as a non profit organization that u could run all year long n charge a fee in a giant warehouse with security open all year long for people who love Christmas n Christmas of the past their childhood and memories because I recognized many things of my own childhood especially the silver tree n cups n candles etc many Grandparents n Parents can share their own Christmas of their past with family just a thought n maybe some people could donate to your cause
Wow, when i was a kid we had a aluminum tree, we had a rotating color gel spot light for it. It use to warm up with christmas lights on it. I swear you could heat french fries under it. Ah happy memories. Thanks for the post!

I just came across your video! I have always loved the vintage Christmas decoration. It brings back the best memories for me growing up,, even though my heat is broken crying watching our mom had a tree like this i was able to safe some of her ornament after she passed in Aug 2018 i couldnt even put a tree up! Your videos have brought tears to my eyes and joy also. You have so many things that, my beautiful Mother had. After her passing although I kept several things and sold a lot of others. At the time I wasn’t thinking straight. I should of just packed up more of them and held on to them until I over the grief. I am glad to see you love your things the way she did. By any chance, did you make the beaded ice skaters? My daughter and I made many beaded ornaments but never ice skaters. These could encourage me to get out all my crafting beads and pipe cleaners to try to copy. I don't think I saw any of the ornaments made with sequins, tiny seed beads, and straight pins that people use to make. I have some that are just beautiful. This tree is amazing! I have the little glass basket of flowers like on your tree.

They are old, and so many are in poor condition. They will lose their little curled needles just from use, so some of them look more sparse. We were very fortunate many years ago to find ours mint in the box.
