Thank you for sharing and recognizing the beautiful art of John Steel. He's one of my favorite artists. His work (including his military and Christian art) has inspired me to paint oceanic and Christian themed paintings. He was a very gifted man indeed. Blessings to you sir.
As a trained painter and entusiast i thank you for shownig this great work ,painters and ilustrators in general have fall in disgrace in an digital image era , ive tried to go with the times but is not the same to touch paper ,paint pens and brushes than go in a computer all day ..
I laughed reading how kids today (ie under 30), are returning to film cameras. Nothing makes one think about a picture more than knowing you only have 36 (maybe 24 or 12!) pictures in a u/w film camera so get it right. A
Hi. I dive with vintage scuba gear. I use DA Aquamaster as well as Fenzy BC. I back tou your older vintage scuba playlist to watch favourite videos. I am interested to see other double hose regulators you might have in your collection. Thank you for sharing
Glad you like my old regs. Most have a video about them before being sold. Only a few old double hose regs left so maybe I'll get videos of them out this year. Need the garage space. A
Hey alec hope you're well. Do you still have more weird vintage scuba stuff you haven't showed us yet? I love those videos of yours. They're all great, your tech tips are my favourites! God bless you and yours
Will you create new vintage scuba playlist Sir please ? I miss does good old videos. Watch them all previously uploaded over the years. I couldn't find good competitive source of vintage scuba knowledge anywhere. Thanks
Skin Diver was awesome for a teen diver to read and dream. I actually dived a few sites identified in those old reads and when doing it, brought back memories of reading about Hawaii, Virgin Islands, and Greece, Italy, and Maldives!
I love picking up an old SDM and reading it cover to cover. The articles, gear and even the ads make me laugh now at how crazy and sometimes silly scuba was back in the early years. A
painting illustrations is a lost art that was used by many magazine editors, to name a few, Popular mechanics, Popular science. that was a period of creativity where skills were developped with real materials. today, computers have took the place with the mind-numbing mind effect it have. I done my career in mechanical engineering and I've lived the transition from manual drawing to CAD, CAD have its benefits but the quality of the drawigs done manually by some of my designers was much much better graphic quality. Today, I use CAD for my small engineering works for the simple reason of space limitation but I always appreciate a manually drafted document. very good topic very good video.
Mr. Steel was a gifted artist. Very exciting and inspirational images. I am binge watching all your videos. Very informative and interesting. Keep up the great work that Kevin and you "the Talent" do. Going to the Riviera Maya in May. Any must see dive sights you recommend there?
Glad you like it. More Vintage Scuba coming. You have to try cenote cave diving at least once. Its a cool thing to do and get the local photo pro to shoot your pictures. A
If you watched my Vintage Scuba video S04E02 on the Visionaire mask you'll see why it was replaced. A great concept but is the mask flooded, it would take a full tank of air to clear it. Todays full face masks are very refined versions of that great mask but much safer and fits many more heads. A
Hi Alex... need your advise. i dived this morning after a break of 12 months. it was a mess. the moment i stop trying to stay tank up, i roll to tank down. ok i have put on a few inches atound my belly..that the reason given by the dive master. i use itergrated weughts on mares hybrid. need your advise to correct this please. thanks
A few inches is not a big problem, well maybe except for Kevin. Start with total weight: did you sink slowly or like the Titanic? Next: Rolling, are weight on a belt or integrated? Belt should be just forward of your sides. Finally trim; were you fully head up or slightly head down? Remember to use the non-ditching trip pockets of a BCD and move you take up towards the head to help get more horizontal. These are starting points and remember at the end of the dive to do a weight check. When you have a good setup, write it in your log book to remember everything worn and lead distribution. It will make next years diving start out better. A
@@AlecPeirceScuba_SeaHunter many thanjs for your valuable input. going down was very normal. a bit heavier than normal to be precise as i was carrying a kilo more than usual. Intergrated system but has 2kilo on the top trim pockets. trim was ok as long as i kept it. moment i let go i went belly up. it was a shallow (14m) reef. i will recheck all my equipment, weights and distribution again and make a another attempt. thanks again for giving me some TIPS to work on.
