This is a really rare window fan built by Vernco. I was hoping to be the fortunate one to get my hands on this as it really caught my attention. I'm already nuts about 4-, 5-, & 6-blade propellers. This window fan is very powerful, & yes it has that "fireball" GE motor. The thermostat works well too. Thanks for watching!!

@@diyintrovert961 Why not put the fan in a window and work it from there? That way, you won't have to hold it to keep it from rattling.

@@HuskyDog88 It doesn't have extender panels. I may have to fabricate something to the point where I can secure it to the window.

@@diyintrovert961 What? No grille on the back? WHY? Why would they make it like that? Not safe.

I really don't get the point in putting a thermostat on a fan (not a heater or an AC unit, but a regular fan) since it doesn't really seem to do anything except cut/deprive the fan of power when the thermostat is set below a certain point like it does with modern fan-forced heaters.

Nor do I, nor do I see myself putting a thermostat on any fan project I plan to do.

@@diyintrovert961 Exactly. Putting thermostats on fans is entirely pointless IMO.

The thermostat is there so that, if the ambient air temperature goes down naturally (such as during the night), the fan shuts itself off.

@@kevinking2134 Just like it would if it's set below a certain point with both this fan and fan-forced heaters like I previously mentioned. Glad to finally solve the mystery of its presence on a regular fan and find out it's not actually pointless 😮

@@diyintrovert961 This is a window fan. Why not do it justice by putting it in a window and operating it from there? Easier to film that way.
