I remember back in the 80's I was racing at Budds Creek, Maryland, MIR....we had a yearly race called the "Dixie Classic". There was a fellow who drove down from Pennsylvania (I believe) each year and was a bear to beat.......he trailered not one but two 68 Barracuda's.......HillyBilly I and HillyBilly II......426 Hemi's and both were just like Bad Fish......well faster, but saw sky forever. Maybe somebody out there may have run across them in the past. Bad Fish is up there in a small block 340.....wow. Another Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner video AMC9L......
Wow! I was at that track a lot in the mid '90's! Saw a LOT of big names too. Shirley Muldowney, Garlits, "Maverick", Bob Riggle, Scotty Cannon..MANY more! Didn't think it was even still open! (I moved from up there to south Texas 21 years ago so not even sure what's around any more other than what my friends up there tell me)
When your on your bumper like that 69 cuda it’s a good thing he has an extra on the front. They are the same front and back lol. Fun video thanks for putting it together 👍
Been there several times. Cool track in the middle of bfe. I watched a jet powered Porta potty go down that track. Same day there were a lot of snowmobiles smoking the bike's. My dad has a photo of the original 64 dodge "color me gone" in the garage from when he used to race at U.S. 30 back in the day. The one in this video is pretty nice as well.
This was real drag racing! Not like the bullshit of today! The cars are too loud, we don't need 12,000 hp.! The cars are ugly and the cost at the gates isn't worth it!
I was in 2 drag races while in high school. In my 64 impala/283 I beat a 63 impala/327. In my 68 gtx/440 I beat a 72 charger/383. Was doing 135 in it, I think it would have done 150.
