Original XX. 'Cr" parts on the rear end had different arm mount, arm, rear hubs. I think Cr front castor block had two camber link holes as well. I'm certain their were other differences too, but those are the major changes.

Great video bud the xx is probably the best 2wd ever made in my opinion i gave up 10th scale along time ago but the one car i own and will never part with is the xx

I think the Losi XX will be one of my next projects. Like you I have about all the other vintage buggies but not any Losi. Not sure why because they look great. Look forward to the updates you do to this one.

I think the xxt may be the entry level version, the higher tier version came with universals similar to your xx. Also the cr versions of both cars had black front bulkheads and the outer front link mounted on the kingpin that runs through the spindle if that makes sense. This was done to increase corner entry because the cars felt lazy with the original mount locations

It's an OG XX. At a glance, the easiest way to tell between an OG and a CR is the rear arms....the OG ones have captured lower shock mounts, whereas CR's do not. The "weak point" of a XX is the front bulkhead (in the toothed area and hinged areas) - I'd bet that's why your car has a white one - it was an upgrade by Losi and sold under the original part # back in the day. Anyone that has ever raced a XX has broken a front bulkhead. For the rear, use a transmission brace - available for cheap on ebay (called "transmission brace"....easy to find). There is a good reason that XX parts are getting expensive. The car is a *weapon*.....especially for the date it was produced. AE had no real response for it until the B4 came out (except for just throwing Masami and Pavidis at the problem and hoping they could pull out a win). Go to petitrc and look at Kinwald's old setup sheets and you will quickly find the parts that are worth collecting - double disk slipper, kingpin ball set upgrade, CR rear end, etc. One last thing...if you go with the CR rear, you HAVE to have it all (mount/arms), not just the arms. IF YOU STAY WITH THE OG REAR END - In the old days, we'd cut the captured section off the rear arms and drill an extra hole, further out on the rear arm in order to get more steering. There is a write up about it in an RCCA from back then, and it thoroughly explains the mod, which actually works quite well. Welcome to Losi 2wd...quite seriously one of the greatest buggies of all time, you have there!

I used to race the double x back in 1997. The weak points that everybody describes as a weak point is not a weak point I've never broken the double X in those areas I need one person that broke a chassis in the front end but it doesn't normally break. The front pivot wool break but most of them have the aluminum strap. If the strap isn't there then yes it will break in a lot of weird ways. I used to break a arms and that's it but I always had the aluminum strap from instant which held it together pretty good

Someone told me that the duratrax evader bx is a Losi xx clone

I have about $4k in Tamiya TRF201 kits and parts. You want any of it
@brianlackie5093
It kills me when you guys talk about are you going to be 45 years old by the time you get to race a double x come on man, I was racing the double x when I was a teenager in the weak points are not the weak points. Yes the front bulkhead would break on the very first virgin but it was reinforced they were never as strong as modern cars but it didn't break as easily as u think. Back then driving style was different and more precise. The voters had a lot of power I miss the zap from a brushed motor brushed motors weren't as efficient but they had plenty of power
@brianlackie5093
It looks like a sport. The chassis looks to me like an original sport version. Your rc10 looks like a b 2 or b 3, I wouldn't call it an rc 10 because rc 10 would have the aluminum chassis
