This is a great video! Thank you sir! Coming in handy been visiting my father in law and he has 88 396 massey Ferguson he hasn't had anyone to drive it for him, so know that I have time it's time to bring it to life. The look in his eyes is priceless. This videos are awesome thank you!
Hi Dan the clicking of the starter is usually down to a drop in voltage their are 3 black plugs above the engine clean and check them but the best way to fix the problem is to fit a relay above the starter this ensures a full 12 volts when you turn the key to start.
Another good video, well done. I note you didn't change the cab filter ? When we gave ours a first service, we took the cab filter out to find it 100% clogged, mind you, it was the original and was over 30 years old. The dealer advised they had seen them with a mouse nest, I advised him there was no room in mine for a mouse to make a nest.
Presumably you cleaned out the air pre-cleaner on top but just didn’t put that bit in the video. It still looked a bit cloudy and brown at the end. Much nicer tractor than all these modern day electronic Fendts and Fastracs that we see today.
Only Massey that I know of where you don t have to pump on one side and go to the other side to look for airbubbles/tighten bleeding screws is the 9240 with Cummins engine, both pumps left side, someone had a bright idea.
I hope those filter hrs aren’t correct 😳😳😂. Check oil level in front axle/ planetaries!!! Don’t ask why I suggest this 😡😉. I have added another solenoid to the starter circuit. The starter and motor will outlive us both 😉
I am not a mechanic so I'll describe it the best I can, hope u can make video of hydraulics. Tractor has leak in the back were u connect hydraulic coupler lines but not at coupler it is at top of were the 4 female couplers box are ? Look like to cones with long hex screws? If I take apart could it be o rings?
