I wish lego still made the airport sets like this. It comes with baseplates for the runways and taxiways. Best lego airport in my opinion but I still like the ones today.

I just bought three 90s era jet plane sets to go with this airport. just got back into a collecting mood. Two shipping/cargo planes and a shuttle transport!

This is one of the last Lego sets I got before going into my `dark ages´. I love it as an airport set and the airport sets of today cannot be compared with this type of sets! Also because today´s sets don´t come with baseplates for a runway. Too bad in my opinion...

Twenty-five years old this set and I still like to combine this set and the 1994 #6597 Century Skyway to make a much larger airport as well as adding the 1990 #6375 Trans Air Carrier to it also. Everything is still there and still works and the mini-figs still go well with today's mini-figs.

This was one of my first sets in the 90s and I still have it, but I broke 2 of the palm leaves, so I had to get creative with the tree.

Yup I agree. This is by far 1 of the better airport sets next to Century Skyway. Which is just this set + a lot of extra stuff. I own Century Skyway. In perfect condition since I store it in its original box. And overall these sets had so many extra vehicles and playsets to add to it. Like cargoplanes and jets and little refuel vehicles and fire trucks. I also own a few other aircraft, mainly smaller ones but also the big hospital plane. Making for a nice scene.

I love the sets from the late 80s to late 90s, I only ever had a few of them though, My family couldn't afford to get me all the ones I liked when I was young, by the time I could spend my own money, there was nothing interesting

Where can one find the instructions for the runway itself? Doesn't seem to be included in the original instruction booklet. At least not in the ones I've found online...

The red light on the left wing and the green light on the right are correct. You can easily remember this: most political left wing parties use the colour red in their logo, in navigation the red light is always on the left side. ;-)
