Look-In. Wow. Now that’s a blast from the past. Not thought about it in years, but I’ve never forgotten the regular strip where the male members of Five Star were always portrayed as simpletons. (Weird, the things that stay with you 😁) And now, about this Thomas Cook “moon holiday” - I’d really quite like to see some details about that.

What a curious final picture of Ted Heath to focus on for what, presumably, is a hagiography of the man - one where he looks discomfited, worried and uncertain, if not scared.

It left me wanting to take a Thomas Cook tour of the moon; see the cheekiest undies of the past and present; find out who said Glynis Johns was mad; and read about Jimmy Greaves on life!

How cheap were newspapers and magazines back then! Now you need a second mortgage for them. Today newspaper in colour, think that was about 1984? My Dad couldn't believe it! Soon got sick of it though and reverted back to The Mirror

The 'Today' newspaper. Marketed as the first newspaper with colour pictures, the first edition was in black and white due to technical issues. You have to laugh....

Boy,10:10wasn't wrong 😬 I wonder how much an exclusive interview with him would cost now. Talking of which, the Financial Times ad a little before that: "Rank Xerox is staking so much on its vision of the electronic office". Again, far sighted, but the irony is that it wasn't Rank Xerox who were able to adapt quickly enough to remain competitive and were stuck forever in the land of photocopiers

I was sure the superhero whose life story they were plugging at2:17was going to be Robert Maxwell, not Ted Heath. Good to see the old crook (Cap'n Bob, that is) makes a momentary appearance in the Mirror ad soon after

I saw the Tetris movie recently. Maxwell and his son were both portrayed in that. It's a fascinating insight into how Maxwell conducted his business through the Mirror group.
